昨日は念願のスケルトニクスさんの工場見学にお邪魔して来ました。 「三次元閉リンク構造」を利用した外骨格ロボットで、その動きを間近に見たり実際に試したり出来てとても興奮しました。 マシン自体や製造過程もさることながら、八王子のこの場所で若者が好きなことに夢中になって、事業として10年以上続けていることにも感動しました。場所に縛られる必要もない、好きでもないことに無理にモチベーションを上げる必要もない、そういう時代なのだと。 歩行も含めて思い通りに動かすにはそれなりに訓練が必要だそうですが、大阪万博には50台で行進を目指しているとのこと。ぜひパイロット候補に志願したいと思います。なんなら製造にも参加したい。 #スケルトニクス #skeltonics #外骨格ロボット (Skeletonics / スケルトニクス) https://www.instagram.com/p/CWO0cUDhuIZTaGXFVT27o5Nq0FquNxNdvK87oo0/?utm_medium=tumblr

Happy Birthday Christina Rossetti

as more of the heroes of my youth pass away, how nice that you, an enthusiasm I came to later, have been dead for so very long. I got to know you that way--although of course, if your poetry is to be any guide, you were dead since you were about 18. Even speaking as a dead person, you always had so much to say for yourself, although at the same time you weren't that big on communication:

When I am dead, my dearest,

         Sing no sad songs for me;

Plant thou no roses at my head,

         Nor shady cypress tree:

Be the green grass above me

         With showers and dewdrops wet;

And if thou wilt, remember,

         And if thou wilt, forget.

I shall not see the shadows,

  "I tell my secret? No indeed not I." "I cannot tell you what it was/ but this I know, it came to pass." Huh. Lucky I have such a weakness for the metrical articulation of absence (but then who doesn't?)  And wombats. I have a weakness for the metrical articulation of wombats and you had that covered, too--even in Italian. There were the goblins and the dream alligators. There was some wild stuff in you:

You probably had no idea that in Goblin Market you'd written a poem that was going to be illustrated in a magazine like Playboy, did you? Or did you? How the hell would we know? You never told us a thing.

That's why I love you, Christina Rossetti. Thanks for the poems about rape by fruit (in Skeltonics), passive-aggressive ghosts, and the ones where you ventriloquize Christ. That's a lot of range. I'd write you a book but I already did. I indexed all the body parts you mentioned. Not sure what else I could really do for you. (Besides sing sad songs and apparently you're not too keen on that). I hope there are wombats in heaven. Happy Birthday, Christina Rossetti.
