lowkey otp - Safiya/KC. I could call it lowkey bc I didn’t thought through all implications of it, bc there’s A LOT of them and they’re complicated. Like, what part of this is genuine love between her and KC and what is everlasting connection between the Founder and Akachi? where the Founder’s personality stops and where Safiya begins? Can you pass love to the next “reincarnation” and if you can, if people could be *destined* to fall in love, how much this relationship is a destiny and how much - free will? I wish there was a long ass fic with this pairing and existential despair and questioning of identities, bc it’s my type of “darkship”highkey notp - Bishop\KC. I don’t usually bitch about it, bc I don’t really care about Bishop, but since you specifically asked for dragging, then ok. My whole reaction to it is “okay, but like, why?” I suppose the appeal is that he’s a ~wild tough alpha~, but like... he’s not? He’s a biggest coward in the party. Even Sand, whose anxiety is basically a character trait, acts DESPITE IT. the whole reason he hides in the shitty docks shop is because the cruelty of luskan’s power broke him and he just wanted to survive, but he still fights against them on the trial, even though he spent years trying to hide from Luskan. he’ll bitch and complain, but he’ll take risks when it counts because he wants to do the right thing.
Bishop acts like he’s ~the rebel~, but basically he fights no power and no one is after him. he betrayed BOTH his village and luskans, so now there’s no one who knows what reprehensible shit he’s done. And he's scared of EVERYTHING that could damage his teenage image of tough lone wolf. He’ll bitch at KC when KC got the title, bc now she’s ~one of the sheeple~, he’ll bitch at her because he has feelings for her, but too scared to admit. He’s too scared to grow up, to commit, to do ANYTHNG with his life but protect his “freedom”, which is actually just a stale status quo. He betrays KC because he saw her with the paladin on the wall, like, how much more pissy and immature you can get? He’s literally running from his feelings. And then he fucking dares to compare himself to KC, because he grew up in a backwater village where everyone was a jerk, but he wasn’t destined for greatness, so obviously the only other choice was to become homicidal asshole. Give me a fucking break. He has a gall to tell KC how much harder he had it than her, when, for example, my PC is a drow girl, who’s not only had a fate of the country on her shoulders, but also had people hating her because of the innate “evilness” of drow. That whole speech of an entitled weak-willed jerk who can’t deal with his life, but tries to blame it on others and also too jealous when someone IS going something with their lives. Also, he’s misogynistic pig and probably haven’t washed in last 10 years.
[softly] don’t notp - um... idk? not really? but since it’s meme about ships, I’ve gotta comment how embarrassed I am for Cas\KC, because I’ve never seen developers just... mock the romance so much? Like, in the confession dialog you have an option to ask him to prove his love by CUTTING HIS ARM. AND HE DOES. I mean, it’s Obsidian, there’s no way this sarcasm is not intentional. And Cas only refuses when you then tell him to JUMP OFF THE WALL.
while I’m on the subject of it, what the fuck was with arguing about KC with Bishop, even behind her back? I’m not surprised to see Bishop doing it, but you’re 40 yo paladin, Cas, you really should know better. And I think it was Bishop who actually proposed that they should let KC decide between two of them, and when a misogynistic Chaotic Evil manages to give a woman more agency, you’ve gotta rethink your life choices.
