velvet isnt entirely quick to violence, especially when she’s being insulted usually. there’s plenty of reasons why

like for example she isn’t too bothered usually. insults can roll of her back. sure, there’s some you can really hit her where it hurts, but for the most part she thinks its funny this isnt her being any sort of weak or push over, but it’s merely her showing she just isn’t bothered enough to even care or seem insulted

another is merely the fact of the unpredictability. IS velvet going to harm you? she let u get away with it, is she going to remember this and set you up to be harmed later? esp considering velvet is the type of woman to have kidnapped and tortured people randomly anyway.

and then, in cases with angel or any of val’s workers, she doesn’t exactly like to get violent with them as ‘she doesn’t want to break toys that arent hers’ if u bruise or break a bone or whatever that is a BIG DEAL for a person who has to market their body for their work, after all.

This all isn’t to say Velvet still won’t snap your neck for saying something rude to her, but just that it isn’t her go-to responses for a reason. Sometimes it’s more infuriating when you get a lack of a reaction.

Here I go finally delving into some thoughts on Alastor ig.

So like.

I know I’m known to not like chal/astor and i wanna start n say this isnt me trying to bash it but me just looking into Alastor as a character.

I do not see his interactions with Charlie as flirtatious at ALL.

Quite the opposite. And honestly ngl it almost kinda feels rather insulting to Alastor’s character to insinuate that

I feel what people are seeming to forget is Alastor is not only a deal making con man, but also was a serial killer in his life.

Most serial killers are always deemed and heard to be ‘charming’. And again knowing the tidbit how Alastor prefers company of women over men?

He, of course, definitely targets women more. I see him also liking company of women because he feels less threatened. A masculinity sort of thing, especially considering the time period he came from.

Seeing how he acted with Charlie seemed to be more of him trying to charm her and gain her trust and still trying to make a deal with him. I really refuse to believe Alastor is here JUST for laughs.

Why would he go tell Charlie his real motivations for being here? Especially if it’s regarding him betraying her in the future.

He is shown to constantly terrorize Vaggie, and even actively keeping Charlie AWAY from Vaggie.

Because he SAW Vaggie was Charlie’s rock. How Charlie stuck up and refused to take a deal with him. How Charlie looked back at Vaggie for approval after her declination. He CAN TELL that Vaggie is what keeps Charlie from falling into harm.

He’s observational and certainly not an idiot.

So of course he’s going to keep Vaggie away from Charlie and try and beguile and charm her and get her to trust him. Just a silly wacky radio host who is here for some laughs and fun! Haha!

I’ve also seen talk on how Alastor is so touchy touchy despite being so touch averse and I feel, now this is, of course, fully my own opinion.

But I see it as a way of power and control. Alastor touching other characters and being so touchy feely with them is him gaining control OVER them. Having them in his grasp and making them do whatever he wishes. He sees it as a sense of power and control. So when someone else does it to HIM of course it’ll upset him and set him off because who DARE think they can control him?

It’s an act of humiliation, making Charlie twirl around and pulling her about, tickling Vaggie’s chin and slapping her behind, squishing Husk close to him and holding him close in a fucking. Neck grip. Lifting Niffty up by the collar and dropping her as he pleased.

These people are ALL puppets to him. They aren’t people with their own free will of mind; they’re idiots who he can easily fool around and charm with.

Alastor was very smug when knowing all he had to do was a little drink here and smile there to get Husk to fucking do whatever he wants. He knows how he ticks. And he’s sure worming his way to figure out the same with the others.

This is all just. My opinion and how I see things, I suppose.

Alastor is a villain and is certainly not just some wacky idiot. He’s a methodical serial murderer and deal maker who is hungry for power and control and has definitely more than he lets in on.
