Helpless.

It's horrible. I can't believe this. I wasn't expecting him to tell me that. I'd already prepared myself, shed a few tears for the loss of a life that isn't lost yet. It was out of the blue. Slapped me in the face. I haven't cried like that in a while. 

Not my Katie Bug. My baby Kate. She's only thirteen years old. She's too young for this, she shouldn't have to worry about something like this. She should be going to lax practice and running track, not on her way down to Boston's Children's Hospital tomorrow. Not to have cancer. 

The worst part is, I can't even do anything. It's not my place anymore. I had a role and I was taken out of it. All I can do is sit and wait for news, I'm not aloud to comfort, to cry with everyone, to hold a hand. All I want to do is to go down to Boston tomorrow. That's not aloud.  

I hate feeling helpless. 

At least he told me.
