Lol ok so if “bloody” did in fact used to be a more heavy swear word than it is now it makes Spike’s speech patterns really funny. Because I always knew he says “bloody” “bleeding” and “bloody hell” as a way to have something that acts like a swear word while remaining in the confines of the rating so it’s like “heck” or “frick/frack” or even “crap.” And there was definitely a joke in there about him, a known victorian, running around using swear words that really aren’t that bad. BUT if it in fact was a much worse swear word that means (for his time) he IS swearing like a sailor and he THINKS he’s swearing like a sailor but because of time and changes in language/culture his f-bomb has depreciated to a “heck” or at worst a “shit”
