Some final witch designs for the pitch. Even if it didn’t pan out, I’m still happy with the creativity I was able to show.

What happens after The Rookie?

Dex and Wisty managed to avoid getting chewed out for being late, though Wisty did get scolded for not answering her phone.

Roughly 3 months before Skully’s arrest, Wisty has a “graduation exam”. She is to spar against two Cadets chosen by Ela; who exactly they are is kept secret from Wisty until they are face to face.

The first is Oat, leader of Team Hemlock, a group of senior BC members. Although rotten and withered, Oat’s skill with his plant magic is formidable, making him an ideal opponent for the younger and inexperienced Wisty to show off her ability to hold her own against a magic user. Wisty’s fiery red and orange inks served her well in the fight.

However, Wisty’s true test is their second opponent, Dex. No easy feat, he’s one of the more skilled BC members when it comes to fighting. A glass cannon with some of the best speed of all the Cadets, Dex hits hard and fast while avoiding taking damage himself. He proves to be a very difficult fight, briefly gaining the upper hand. However, Wisty had anticipated Dex would be their second opponent, and as such had already formulated a plan. Dodging and bouncing out of the way with the help of their elastic pink ink, Wisty blinds and disorients Dex by creating a thick smokescreen with their silver ink. They further obstruct his vision with white ink, which lets off a bright light.

Following his scarf through the smoke, Wisty is able to get the jump on him and land the solid blow needed to stun him.

With the test passed, Wisty is at last considered a fully fledged Cadet. After this, Bianca and Pinprick offer to bring her onto their team. Given they were the ones who brought Wisty back to BC after she was cursed, she ended up pretty attached to the both of them.

now that someone mentioned skz I’m curious, how was the comic supposed to end? will we ever get a summary on how the story would go?

Sure, I pasted this from my pitch document. This was the basic episode break down for the series.

Act One: Joining Black Cauldron (10 Episodes) Skully's poor situation and motivations are revealed. Her destructive behavior causes a bounty on her head, which results in her capture by Dex. With her out of the way, Jack makes his first public appearance threatening all of Salem. Skully breaks out of jail but is stopped, she is then given the chance to join Black Cauldron.

Act Two: Hunting Witches (10 Episodes) Skully moves into Black Cauldron and partners up with Dex, ready to go on their first missions. Skully's estranged parents (Edgar and Umbra) are the main focus as her mother is a cultish witch in a distant town and her father breaks out of prison after being manipulated by Jack. A part of Dex's story is revealed. Skully ends up in a battle against Jack, nearly dying.

Act Three: Jack's Plans (20 Episodes) Skully and Dex recover from battle, bonding in the process. Jack has already situated his mother's role in his plans as he collects souls-hearts in mass. When ready, he stages a public attack on The Chancellor led by Edgar. Edgar is stopped and said to be executed, pushing Skully into a downward spiral. Jack warns Dex to stop getting involved with Skully. Dex refuses and asks for Umbra's help to save Edgar for Skully's sake. Dex's health is worsening due to his curse. The pair discover that The Minister (Graves) is a witch who is helping Jack finish the runes on Bella's grimoire. Dex's curse takes over in battle against Graves, Skully calms him down but it's too late, Graves has already given the finished runes to Jack. Dex becomes closed off and the pair break up.

Act Four: Skully's Sacrifice (10 Episodes) Dex spirals into depression as Skully is reassigned to a new group. Skully chooses to save a friend instead of stopping Jack. Skully goes to confront Dex, pulling him out of his hole and becoming partners again. They storm into The Chancellor's office to stop Jack from getting Bella's grimoire. It's a trap, and Skully is set to be sacrificed unless Dex can stop it. He is unable to but Skully puts an end to the spell by letting go of her hatred for Jack. The final battle against Jack ensues.

Hello, an anon here! I apologize for bringing up this comic considering how old it is, but I must ask—Where are the bios for the Skull-Kidz characters? I’ve looked everywhere for the ‘official website’ mentioned in Tapas to learn more, but I haven’t been able to find anything about it. Thank you for answering!

Skully makes an appearance!

I’m working on something BIG for SKZ, can’t say much but I’ve been working on it for 2 months now.  I have to be vague but whatever the outcome is , I’ll be going out with a bang.
