Why is Maya the one that has to do this...? She’s really bad at talking to people, let alone asserting herself! But her boss chose her to deal with this problem, and his word is law.
So she’s the one standing in the loading dock, trying to get the skating ruffian away from here.
Except she has no idea how to get his attention, so she just waits. Wow, he’s pretty good at skateboarding. She thinks.

“Beat we gotta get out of here now!” Neku was lucky to have been around his friend during this festival. They were having a great time with one another, until chaos happen to ruin the fun. There was nothing the two can do. There’s no use in punching a ghost. Maybe if he had his pins... no-no time to think of what he could have done. “There’s no way to fight them- we need to have a plan to get through these guys. There’s gotta be a way to beat them without punching something you’ll just easily go through.” Logically speaking.
The first thing the boy hears is a chuckle. The city seems intent on tearing itself from the inside out, but when Beat turns around, Joshua’s there, perched on a lamp post as if that won’t paint himself any bigger a target, snapping a picture or two with his phone of the skater standing victorious over some twice-dead zombies.
Quickly, Joshua surveys their surroundings, clapping slowly when he deems it safe for a conversation. “Bravo, Beat, you really showed them who’s boss.”
Really, it’s a shame that so many old faces decide to show up when the world is, yet again, falling apart. But if it can’t be helped, then he figures it’s his job to round everyone up and make sure they’re all still in one piece.

This city keeps coming up with the strangest events. As if it would be the perfect way to bond with others. Well... it’s not like they are wrong, Neku didn’t have to be out here and participate in what was going on. However, something about this kind of intrigue him. Maybe it’s because something like this was a bit familiar. Not as uncomfortable as it may have been a few months ago... but he couldn’t help but find himself curious of what this was about. Though he prefer to stay away from large crowds and observe what’s going on.
Speaking of observing, his ears caught wind of someone’s voice. Someone very familiar... could it actually be someone else he knew? Someone else he could easily call a friend, someone who probably would have the same thoughts of how weird this celebration going on really is. The other seem to be talking loud over some food that looked pretty good, but guess it’s time to get him out of that fantasy and tap him over the shoulder.
“Who would have thought that I would meet up with you during this weird celebration going on. heh, enjoying yourself there Beat?”

Neku glance at his phone, opening and closing his messages as the thought of sending something out would be a good idea, or to do his own thing on his own. At this point, it didn’t matter. Even in this island, it shouldn’t matter... yet a part of him didn’t want to revert back to his old self, pushing everyone away again.
With a can of spray paint being held with his other hand, he shook it a moment before texting a friend.
