Althea my beloved
Althea is a healer for a fantasy world kind of thing I've been doing with a friend, we've named it shattered veils. It lives rent free in my head. But basically I drew these ocs last year, but I want to post here so I have Thier art on this account. Makes for easier searching and I thought y'all would be interested.
But ye Althea is a healer, they joined the rebellion after one of their members, Clement, got injured badly and needed healing. They've since been traveling with the rebellion, being part of the main party specifically.
Their non-binary as well so please use They/Them for them please and thank you.
Althea is a short king fr fr, they aren't particularly friendly, Thier independent and determined. They aren't one for being a push over, however they have had a hard time fitting in at the rebellions main camp. While they fit in the main party just fine, they're very different which makes them stand out at the main camp, not everything is sunshines and rainbows unfortunately.
I don't have a good title for this thing I want to make but its basically....
Things one species does that others don't in the Ninjago series
I barely have any ideas for an individual species anyway it would be short
The Sky Folk
As many of you know, Hyrule Historia confirms that the Introductory Timeline leading up to the Split is made up of Skyward Sword, The Minish Cap, and Four Swords.
In Skyward Sword we are introduced to a land above the clouds, separated from the surface world by the goddess Hylia. It’s implied that the residents of Skyloft – this lofty sky realm – make their way down to the surface and, under the guidance of Zelda and the protection of the Triforce, begin to resettle the world after centuries of absence since the Cataclysm brought about by the Demon King and his unholy hordes.
These humans are the original Hylian race – descendants of the goddess in her mortal form (their forefathers having been humans under her protection). They essentially colonize and “civilize” this world of Hyrule, establishing a monarchy ruled by the purest Hylian bloodline.
As the introduction of The Minish Cap seems to imply, when the kingdom was rather young, hordes of monsters attacked without hesitation. And when all hope seemed lost, tiny servants of the goddess came down – the Minish – and gave a magic Light Force and a powerful Sword to a hero (descendant of Link & Zelda perhaps?) who drove back the demons, trapping their essence in a magic chest. Every century the young kingdom of Hyrule paid their respect to these tiny saviours, whom are said to find joy in making humans happy.
At this time, a sect of humans with magical power who called themselves the Wind Tribe yearned to return to the sky (most, if not all humans, having descended from Skyloft), and finally achieved this through powerful magic. They plucked up their hallowed home and set it adrift among the clouds! Curiously, there are a lot of colourful birds that accompany these Wind folk – they appear to resemble miniature Loftwings, who are of course the guardians of the people of Skyloft during the Era of the Sky…
The Master Sword lay in hiding in the ruined Sealed Temple, until it was rebuilt by the ancient sage & architect Rauru and his brethren: the Sages. The Picori Sword – the blade forged by the Minish for the Hero – was enshrined in the royal palace until a power-hungry Minish antagonist named Vaati broke it. The then-current hero incarnate took the initiative to have the blade forged anew, imbuing it with the elements of earth, wind, fire and water. This new blade was called the Four Sword, and it had the ability to split its user into four copies to deal justice to wrongdoers.
Four Swords begins with Vaati incarnate terrorizing Hyrule and capturing beautiful maidens to steal away to his Palace of Winds: the once-stronghold of the Wind Tribe, whom we can assume were driven out — if not murdered. A young traveler appears with the Sword, and imprisons the demon’s spirit in the blade. One century later, the seal weakens, and Vaati is unleashed! He sets his eyes on the lovely princess Zelda, and her childhood friend Link must take up the blade to save her. As before, the demon is sealed within and the land is safe once more.
Hyrule enters a period of turmoil as legend of the Triforce comes to light, setting neighbour against neighbour until the Hylian monarchy unifies the country once more.
I believe that the City in the Sky is what remains of the Palace of Winds, and the Oocca who inhabit it are simply intelligent "squatters". It is possible that, through magic or some strangeness, they are the descendants of the Loftwings, whose purpose as guardians was severed at the end of Skyward Sword. I think the possibility is there. As for the reference our historian friend Shad makes regarding their hand in the creation of Hyrule and the Hylian race, that is itself a mistranslation: the Sky Folk indeed are the ancestors of the Hylians, and they did build a city in the sky for themselves after establishing a presence on the surface. But the Sky Folk and the Oocca are not one in the same!
Sounds familiar? The Skyloftians established Hyrule and begot the Hylian race, and then a sect of their people sought the sky again as the Wind Tribe. The Wind Tribe had a connection to the royal family since the reign of King Gustaf, and possible prior. They also had colorful and intelligent pet birds — similar to Loftwings of lore, but smaller.
I believe that the Wind Tribe, being powerful in magical arts, bestowed the punitive descendants of the Loftwings with a new purpose, making them human-like: the origin of the Oocca race. When Vaati killed-off/ran out the Wind Tribe itself, their Oocca partners fled until his defeat, and then reoccupied the City/Palace ruins.
Communications with the surface-dwellers continued through this time directly between the Hylians and the Oocca, and this fact skewed the original truth: that the Wind Tribe held council with the Hylian royals until their demise, and had helped establish the kingdom of Hyrule. The Sky Beings known as the Wind Tribe were confused over time with their punitive friends, the Oocca!
The City in the Sky was clearly built for human occupation; the technology of the Sky Folk are also definitively made for human use, so clearly that means a human or human-like culture was responsible. The Wind Tribe seems to fit the bill, not the Oocca.
