IMPORTANT NOTICE -- PLEASE READ!
First of all, I want to say that thank you all so much for staying here with us on this amazing run of the roleplay. And second of all, I want to tell you that's it's NOT CLOSING. I want to reiterate that because I know people are going to be like 'oh god it's closing nooooo,' and that is the farthest thing from the truth. No, we're currently going to go through a reboot. There is a few things I want to talk about in this reboot, however, and I'm going to clear up some of you confusion, I think, with it.
What does it mean?
So this reboot means that all of the characters will be reset and it will be like they are coming to Sky High for the first time, because it is a brand new school. Except those that the mods believe have had a lot of plot with one another that has been so well developed. Individual characters backgrounds, however, will not be kept. We apologize for this, but we have to do what we have to do.
So wait, the ones that get to stay, were they at Sky High before?
No, they weren't. It's up to you to decide where they were before. They could have been at NYU, or a different school, or if you want something SHIELD-centric I can figure out something there, you just have to message me and ask me what you want. But they were not at Sky High before, and most of their friendships and such have been reset as well.
So they are coming to Sky High for the first time?
Yes, it's a brand new school. Just as it was when we first started. It will begin with the spring semester rather than the summer one when we first started.
How will we know if we get to keep our characters/ships or not?
We will be putting a list of those who get to keep theirs at the end of this. The people that get to keep their characters can be anyone, but keep in mind that you are only allowed to keep three if you are not a mod, and the character is being reset completely. If there is something that happened at Sky High that you greatly want to keep, then talk to me (Russ) personally, and I will tell you yes or not. But please keep in mind a reset might be in your best interest. I know you might be attached to some of the things that happened to your character, but think of it as... a new start. A clean slate. Sometimes, no matter how attached you are, a new beginning is the best thing. The best example I have of this is Betty. Lara had no where to go with her because she had all this background she was attached to, but she still decided that a new start would be the best. And this doesn't mean you have to delete the blog and do all that, you can keep the memories and such... it's just a new start. Sometimes keeping the old memories and moving on is the best thing. You might even find you don't have as big of a connection to a character as you did before.
Why are you doing this to some and not others? I don't find this very fair at all, and tbh I think it's poor modding.
If you have been in the roleplay this long and you still don't understand that the mods sort of have more leverage, then I don't know what to tell you, to be honest. But we're doing a REBOOT. That means everything is pretty much reset. Past events didn't happen, SAW night never happened, etc. Even with the ships that get to stay, you have to think through your own ways of character development and ship development because the events in this roleplay NEVER HAPPENED. That's sort of the point of the reboot. That being said, I know that if a roleplay closed or reset when I had over 6 months of ship development, then I would be really upset. And we only have a few ships that actually have that development. I know it might seem unfair that I'm only letting a few, but like I said before... this is a reboot. A reset. If you think it's poor modding, well, I'm sorry, but keep in mind this roleplay has been open for almost two years, so if you would like to do a better job, feel free to try.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Now that all of those questions are out of the way, feel free to ask me anything else you might have. Once again, keep in mind this is a reboot, so those of you already in the roleplay do not have you reapply, although if you want to pick up a new character you have to send me in the character portion of the application (but I don't have it up right now, so don't ask me for it quite yet. We're still setting up the new blog). If you don't want to stay in the roleplay, I understand one hundred percent. Everything has sort of died a lot and I don't expect you to stay, but things are going to be different now. We're rebooting, hopefully getting more people, and hopefully getting activity back up and running smoothly again.
The plan is that the new blog will be up tonight or tomorrow, and I will start working on graphics and such and getting it all set up. We will then start taking applications, and we will accept them on either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. And the roleplay itself will open on Friday. I've found this way of making roleplays extremely efficient, and it works out pretty damn well. I hope you'll all stick with us through this, but like I said, it's up to you. Just let me know if you will be staying or not. If you have any questions, concerns or whatever, please let me know on skype or here (skype is preferable.)
Another thing that is changing is aside from the mods, for the first while the people that have been in the roleplay previous can only have three characters.
