We all know it’s because Rey will find out her father is Luke, who she felt abandoned her, and will commiserate with Kylo, who also felt abandoned by his family when he was younger after he was sent away to train with Luke.
Kylo and Rey will find a spiritual connection in that fact, which will make it harder to harm the other due to the mutual understanding of their motivations.
Snoke was the only one showing Kylo any attention so naturally, he would follow him. Rey had never had a family of any kind.
They may, very well, grow together, grow to understand one another, and greatly impact the choices the other may make, but they will not fall in love.
Isn’t the possibility of them not being in love even more powerful if the aforementioned things do happen?
That simply they intrinsically understand one another so well that they can actually get in each other’s heads without the promise of romance, courtship, and libido fulfillment.
That they just know each other and they could realistically be the downfall of the other simply because they understand one other.
Sex and romance cheapens the incredible dynamic, almost a literary foil, that could exist between these two!
