amuse me (because i thought it could be cute)
Anna’s childhood wasn’t full of hugs and kisses, bedtime stories, or families sitting down to share meals. Coming to Xavier’s had shown her she wasn’t alone, but it also gave her a purpose. These kids didn’t have to grow up without anyone to love them. So she took the time to check in with each and every one of her students, give them smiles in the hall, and most of all love them as her own. Even the older ones, and sometimes especially the older ones.
“How’s this one?” she asks, pulling a face with her cheeks sucked in as if she’s applying blush. Her eyes squinted like she’s looking into a burning sun, hands on her hips. “Or this one?” Her facial features relax, an almost demure look takes over instead. Shifting her upper body so she’s looking over her shoulder at Skylar, she breathes an airy sigh.
Dropping the act entirely, she looks at the younger woman with raised brows. “What’a’ya think, sugah? Which pose is betta’ for my ID, huh?” It was picture day, and if pulling stupid faces for the next half hour would keep Skylar smiling til then- she would do so gladly. “Ya know what?” she huffs as if she can’t believe she forgot this one. “How ‘bout this one here?” Sucking her lips in, she puckered them like a fish and made accompanying noises as she leaned in close to Skylar with tickle fingers at the ready.
