Experience at The Shard
Trip to shard was one exciting experience of my life. I have not yet been in London Eye Ferris Wheel but I was told this is perhaps the best aerial view of London. Unlike the other venues where you only see the miniature view of London this place was right in the heart of London covering the famous historic venues from Westminster Abby to London Eye. The viewing gallery, also known as 'The View from the Shard' is the the highest point in Europe, standing erect at 310m (1016ft). Shard is now the outstanding part of London City's skyline featuring its design and its height and its overall experience to the city's tourism.
The Shard is a recently constructed building, officially inaugurated in February last year. That explains why most of us outside London have not heard of it. When I first witnessed this buildng, I assumed it to be a under construction whose top floors were yet to be built. Well, Shard according to English dictionary means a piece of broken ceramic, metal, glass, or rock, typically having sharp edges. The building is designed to appear like a broken piece of glass and my vocabulary was not sound enough to connect the name to its structure.
There is more to it than its beautiful view. If you forgot to carry a camera with you, you need not have to worry because they have their own arrangements. Right from the time you enter the building to the moments at 'The View from the Shard' they got you covered in terms of pictures. You can later have these printed or transferred in a flash drive from their shop. This is a good add on to those friends or couples who expect perfectly lighted professional pictures. If you are tired of your travelling in superfast elevators, which you is highly unlikely to happen, there is an arrangement of champage and lemonade at their sky bar. If you happen to visit the Shard, I would recommend you to spend some time at their shop to purchase some Shard merchandises as a memento of your memorable visit.
