it’s so important to me that slade & trigons relationship seems to be based more on trigon’s sick desire for power than it is on trigon actually needing slade’s help for anything. I mean, you really think he dug up that dusty skeleton and taught him firebolt just to like, activate something within raven? had him run around as his little supercharged proxy soldier to raze the city in his signature because he NEEDS to?

Slade could’ve gotten his job done with no upgrades and then trigon could wipe him out with the snap of a finger. But trigon more than anything just wants to see what he can manipulate this *small, desperate person* with *big powers* to do for him. hm. sounds oddly familiar
