The Beta episode of SlashCast is out Now!
Just a quick promotional update for Slashcast!
Back in March of 2012, I had the opportunity to go to the Sherlock party at SXSW. I was reporting for Slashcast, and this happened. :-)
Hi, found you through facebook. I don't have a tumblr, but I saw you're Sherlock fans and wanted to suggest maybe doing an episode with the Baker Street Babes? A lot of them are into slash and are both in fandom and in that old school Sherlockian world that isn't as comfortable with it. I think it'd be interesting to look at that dynamic and how the old school people perceive the new fandom. I love the podcast btw, have listened to a few eps now!
Thanks so much for listening! We appreciate all feedback and suggestions, especially as we head into this hiatus and start thinking about relaunching our podcast in 2014.
Since you're interested in the dynamic between old and new faces in fandom, I'll point you toward an episode we did last year called Old School/New School in which we had a discussion with some slashers who've been around since the 'zine days and the beginnings of online fandom in the 80s and early 90s. It's a fascinating look into the history of slash in fandom. Enjoy!

Joasakura pimps the Spartacus fandom with Kriken
The staff share what we'll be squeeing about in the rest of 2013
Enjoy!
Hey, is everything okay? I noticed that suddenly there's been no new episodes since April, and I'm a little worried. Is everyone alright? (or did I just miss an announcement?)
First, let me apologize for the radio silence on our end. We intended to have an episode out July 1, and due to various snafus, it's been pushed back to August 1.
This is perhaps also a good time to announce that we are going to go on hiatus for the rest of the year after this episode. Several of our core staff members have had to cut back on their participation due to real life obligations, and it's very difficult to run a podcast with a skeleton crew.
So after this episode we're going to take some time off to regroup and hopefully recruit some new staff, and then we'll make a plan for going forward in early 2014.
Thank you for asking, and thanks also to everyone who's listened over the years! If you want to check out all those years of episodes, there is a master post here. And of course, we'll keep tumbling slashy stuff!
