We are going to pretend that I can draw. Anyway. Bluedusk w her kits. Or... her kit. In my head, Duskkit and Slatekit have already died and are simply waiting for Mosskit to join them. Mosskit can see them but is so young that she doesn't fully understand who she's looking at. Bluedusk is too depressed to even look at her daughter. In my head, Mosskit looks the most RiverClan. If you really wanted to pretend, Duskkit and Slatekit could pass for full ThunderClan (inheriting those genes that made Oakclaw look about as non-RiverClan as a full blooded RiverClanner could look), but Mosskit... Mosskit is all RiverClan. She's got rounded ears, a short tail, the pattern of her tabby coat looks exactly like her father's. In fact, she looks like a paler version of her father. Mosskit was born first, and from the moment she was born, there was no denying who the father of this litter was. I like to think that Bluedusk never actually named a father, but Mosskit made it so obvious that she didn't need to. If it had just been Duskkit and Slatekit, maybe Bluedusk could have claimed an outsider fathered her kits. Unfortunately, the world may never know.
This absolutely breaks my heart into pieces.
Awww the girlies
I hope Slatepaw grows up to be a mediator like her mama
I think she’d be good at it
It's interesting to me how people tend to think the sweetest kits would make good mediators. People were saying Barley would make a good mediator and people are saying the same about Slate and while I don't think thats wrong necessarily, I do think it's incomplete. Being a mediator isn't just being someone nice who helps people work through their feelings, it's also being someone who is willing to deal with angry and belligerent cats in order to facilitate discussion. It helps to be kind but that isn't the only requirement and some cats just aren't cut out for it even if they like helping people and making them happy. Something to think about...
