Arbitrary Card of the Day 8-1-17: Slaughter Games
Today's arbitrary card of the day is Slaughter Games. To prove how weird English pronunciations are, take away the first S and you get Laughter Games, which sound a lot safer. That one unrelated consonant changes the way we pronounce the "augh" in the middle of the word is stupid. Who invented this language? It's so awful.
Quick question to anyone playing living end in modern, how do you feel about slaughter games as a sideboard card?
So I have a working scanner now! Though after looking at the above work I think it might need some cleaning hah. I also bought new Golden brand paints, which really show in this Slaughter Games here compared to my previous work. I still might upload a photo taken from my tablet, just cause the resolution is better and it shows the color a lot more vibrantly.
I also finally bought a card portfolio/trade binder this week. My entire first page is my small collection of alters I haven't sold off yet. It's really nice to see all my work laid out all clean and nice, and it definitely shows when folks at my new LGS look at it. I've raked in 8 different commission requests in the past week. Hopefully I can take some time away from the day job to actually start working on them. Stupid real life.

This is a bit of a complex question, but here goes: Let's say my opponent has Hypersonic Dragon on the battlefield. I attempt to cast a spell. In response, my opponent plays Slaughter Games, naming the card I was trying to cast. Does Slaughter Games exile the card I was attempting to cast? If so, does the spell still resolve? ... Basically, I suppose the question is: when you are casting a spell, in what zone is that spell (especially if it is an instant or sorcery)?
Your spell is safe. Spells and abilities that have been cast but haven’t resolved yet are in a zone called the stack. Slaughter Games lists all of the zones it searches (graveyard, hand, library) and the stack isn’t among them.
