Summer Update Notes

Set story pages have been added for every qualifying set between Alpha and Secrets of Strixhaven! Since each links to previous set and next, it's one continuous chain from earliest to latest and back.

Backlog work also continues as the Magic Arena voicelines (provided courtesy of @dasebeleren) will be added to the catalog. These will be starting backwards from Lorwyn Eclipsed, as the latest voicelines for Quint, Dellian, and Echo Ral from are already entered and available.

The story for Reality Fracture will be starting by the end of August, so stay tuned and good luck in the Echoverse.

Gavan Infinity #23:

There are so many seeds of interesting ideas in this finale and I'm so so so so mad this show wasn't twice as long. Show hits "People have positive and negative emotions and they're both important" and "Getting perspectives outside your own is fun and important" and "Maybe we shouldn't live our lives based on what some aloof authorities tell us" and "Corruption in law enforcement starts at the top" and "Women look great smeared with blood" and it just doesn't get to have the space to fully explore any of it.

And maybe this is because the series is Project RED, not Gavan Infinity. We know actors are returning in Omegahorn. What does the continuity look like, in both plot and theme? I'm so curious what the big-picture plans are here and what Project RED will actually look like.

That anime sequence sure was a thing! I liked it! I like when this show gets weird and fun!

I think Gavan Infinity's biggest strength was that it wasn't afraid to take weird swings and be whatever it wants to be in the moment. The show is all over the place (positive) in a way that feels very close to the heart of classic toku from the 60s and 70s.

For as upset as I was at the premier, I ended up liking Gavan Infinity a lot! It took a bit to find its footing, and it had a tall order of being its own newish thing in the wake of Super Sentai, but I had a good time with it. That's about all I can ask from a television show.

I don't think I have a lot to say here. I don't really know if I can say anything else here. It was a really well done episode. It hurt (positive). I can't really stay engaged to its contents long enough to say more.

There are at least three separate ways to game over without ever leaving the starting room, one of which involves trying to retrieve your bra from the ceiling fan, flubbing the skill check, and dying instantly.
