Melania Trump's movie tanking is fantastic news, but it's just insane how many leftist YouTubers and commentators make fun of her accent, of how her very obviously marrying this pig for money is something basically Slavic women do, and how they joke about mail-order brides.
They wouldn't want to be caught dead making these kinds of jokes about any other ethnicity, but somehow Slavs and especially Slavic women are always the butt of these "jokes" ; they don't even bother trying to pronounce our names properly.
The Western world really needs to deconstruct the way they see Slavs, and do better.
And because we are on the piss on the poor website : this doesn't mean that I believe applying the same treatment to any other race or ethnicity is ok.
I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of some of our leftist spaces. Prejudice and misogyny are everywhere
m becoming obsessed w Slavic memes
Is "Whistling will bring mice into the house" a thing for you guys?
Like do your moms tell you not to whistle indoors out of fear of attracting rodents? Or is it just a Slavic/EE thing? (My family is Serbian, so I'm going off of that.)
Is this a superstition you're familiar with?
Yeah, obviously whistling is how you get mice. (My family is Slavic/EE.)
Yeah, obviously whistling is how you get mice. (My family is USAmerican.)

This isn't familiar to me, but I can see where it comes from? (Slavic/EE)

People who think Baba Yaga is a joke truly don’t understand what it was like to grow up in genuine fear of her catching and eating you.
Tangent to my reblog on that last post, but I wish all those "slavique aesthetic" blogs that depict Baba Fucking Yaga as some sort of conventionally attractive, thin, alabaster-skinned, twenty-something Sad Girl a very Get Nuked From Orbit
seeing people from all over the world loving a slav band (joker out) is really so important for me, cause i have always been a bit shamed to be a slav person because, you know, the slav discrimination and all that. but seeing that even a slavic band and people can be appreciated and loved really means the world to me and it makes me proud to be a slav
