This was inspired by @daeva-agas animals associated with the lords post. I was wondering if there was a specific reason to why Voltage chose those animals for each character and decided to do some research on the symbolism of each animal to see how closely they matched their lordly counterparts. Now I want to say that I am not as historically inclined as others so I might miss or confuse some texts but I’m trying so if I get something wrong then please tell me so I can correct it! Anyway, here we go:

Eagle people are seen as visionary seekers who are willing to push the limits of self-discovery and personal freedom. Eagles have a connection to the divine because the eagle flies high than any other bird which earned its nickname as “King of the Skies”. Eagle people are also natural born leaders who become impatient with those who cannot fly as quickly or as high. They have strong talons to grab what they want and people naturally gravitate to them. Eagles also bring a message of renewed life as they are connected to the dawn and are a magnificent celestial power able to shine light on the world.
Eagles are divine creatures that are connected to the following gods; Zeus, as well as his Roman counterpart Jupiter, and Odin. In heraldry, an eagle means a man of action and judicious.
WHY THIS APPLIES TO NOBUNAGA
I think most of this is pretty self-explanatory but we’ll go over it anyway lol.
For immortality, even though Oda Nobunaga has been dead for centuries, his name still lives on even today as one of the three unifiers of Japan and is very prominent in Japanese culture as well as history.
Nobunaga is a skilled ruler and has a vision of wanting to create divine rule and unify Japan. Like the eagle itself that also has a connection to the divine, Nobunaga is considered to fly higher than any other person in order to achieve his number one goal of unification.
Eagle people are also natural born leaders who become impatient with those who cannot fly as quickly or as high: This can be seen with Mitsuhide in not only Mitsuhide’s main story but concerning both of their sequels. Nobunaga is constantly frustrated at Mitsuhide for trying to oppose him not only at the burning of Enryraku-ji but Hongan-ji as well so innocents wouldn’t lose their lives.
Nobunaga very much wanted to shine light on the world but sort of fell a bit short. We can see this when (*SPOILERS*) he killed Shingen and immediately expected his divine rule to begin since his longtime enemy was now dead. While some did naturally gravitate towards him, he wasn’t especially well liked especially after the incident at Hongan-ji and regarding the Ikko-Ikki which earned him the nickname: the Lord of Hell.
I’ll add more once I redo Nobunaga’s route again and I’ll actually write things down this time so I don’t miss anything but this is mostly my main points. I’ll be trying to do each one of these for our lords so stay tuned! Mitsuhide will be next but I won’t get him out until I’ve completed his sequel.
