Their Nordic Glacier Water Sleeping Pack is designed to deeply hydrate and add minerals to the skin as well as to provide smoother skin overnight with it's effective and moisturizing ingredients. Key ingredients include: 72% of glacier water (mineral-rich, calming, hydrating, soothing, cooling), ceramide NP (nourishing, contains natural fatty acids, improves skin texture, adds suppleness), sodium hyaluronate (anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, hydrating, moisturizing, healing) and bergamot fruit oil (healing, evens out and improves skin tone, anti-acne, skin-balancing, unclogs pores). The sleeping pack contains 80 grams (2.82 oz) and has a strong bergamot fragrance. 

The sleeping pack comes in a glass jar and it also comes with a small spatula.

The sleeping pack has a thick gel consistency and while it's not shown here, it has an off-white, greyish tinge to it.

The texture is thick and tacky and feels very refreshing.

Once it dries down, my skin felt very moisturized and it really soothes any redness or irritation.

Recommended use as a sleeping pack: apply a sufficient amount of the sleeping pack after cleansing and using a toner, you do not need to rinse off and feel the change in your skin the next morning. For use as a moisturizer: prep your skin with toner after cleansing your face. Apply a sufficient amount of the sleeping pack and let it absorb into the skin. Wait a while before putting on your makeup to maximize its long-lasting moisturizing effect. After using, I noticed how amazingly moisturizing this pack is, it's definitely for very dry skin. Not much is needed and it spreads over the skin, leaving it very smooth. It's very sticky at first, but it does dry down to a smooth, slightly tacky finish. The ingredients are lovely and the smell of bergamot is awesome, it seems to be a trend lately for products to smell like bergamot, it just reminds me of earl grey tea lol. After the pack dries down, it makes skin very smooth and soothes any redness or irritation. It's also quite long-lasting, over 12 hours of moisturization. I'd recommend this for very dry skin or during cold weather or very dry weather.

What I like: the texture and how well it smooths over the skin, it's very moisturizing and very nourishing. The ingredients are also very lovely and I love the strong scent of bergamot. It's ideal for winter or very cold weather, as well as very dry weather or just if you have dry skin. The effects are long-lasting, over 12 hours and it soothes redness and irritation in the skin. What I don't like: I think if you have irritation or sensitivity to scent, the fragrance will be too strong for you. It also contains a couple of irritants.

Mix & Match Millennial Pink Regimens

Hi babes. I know it’s been a hot minute (all minutes feel hot these days tbh, and not necessarily in a good way), but work and personal stuff have been infringing on my skincare time, as they so often do. I wanted to share these two #MillennialPink regimens with you, because #aesthetics, am I right?

This first one was heavy on the brightening products, because I’ve been feeling dull and splotchy lately. Saturday Skin cleanser first, which I like, but I’m still not sure if I want to make a regular product, followed by the Huxley toner, and a super luxurious Polatam Sheet Mask. I actually didn’t need the Lotus essence afterwards, since the sheet mask was so emollient, so I followed up with the Saturday Skin eye cream and The Lotus sleeping mask. This felt like a really good combination of products, but ideally I’d like to get that essence in there too, maybe before the sheet mask?

Then I got a couple new Huxley products focused on brightening, so I figured I’d pair them up with the Saturday Skin products to see if I could level up my overall routine to that truly coordinated Millennial level. I cleansed and toned, and followed those with the Saturday Skin brightening sheet mask, which was more of a bio-gel fabric texture than the Polatam. It was hard to apply at first, but stayed on beautifully and soaked up for the better part of an hour.

Then I slapped on the Huxley brightening essence and cream, which seem to me to be basically two versions of the same product. They both have the same active ingredients, and the essence is more oil-based than I usually prefer, so it just feels like putting the same product on twice. I’m glad I got these on sale—so far I’m relatively underwhelmed by Huxley for the most part, but it might also just not be right for my skin type, either. I’ve been getting breakouts lately, so I need to focus more on exfoliation and pore cleansing than extra moisturization at the moment.

How are you babes adjusting to the all-over-the-place weather these days? It seems like winter just kind of came out of nowhere, so I’ve been experimenting and trying to adjust my regimen accordingly, but sometimes I’m lucky just to get my makeup off before I fall asleep at night. Y’all know how it is.

No, it’s not necessary. The only necessary steps, imo, are cleansing, moisturizing, and applying sunscreen.

There’s lots of great affordable sleeping packs out there, if price is the only thing holding you back. Ex. Mizon Good Night White Sleeping Mask

RECOMMENDED USE:

1. Using the spatula, dispense gel and 1-2 bubbles onto the palm.

2. Gently rupture the bubbles with the spatula onto the palm and rub with the fingers to mix the bubbles and pack.

3. Evenly apply on skin in a massaging motion to promote absorption into skin.

4. Leave it on overnight, and then wash off with lukewarm water the next morning.

Tips! Use only gel depending on the condition of skin. For better moisturizing effect, mix the gel with 1-2 bubbles

From me: A little goes a long way, so I would defiantly stick to ONE bubble each time you apply. One bubble is more than enough for your entire face, and honestly with how easily the gel spreads if you used anymore than that you’d run out too quick and be left with just a ton of gel.

First Impressions: The packaging is A LOT smaller than I thought it was going to be? It’s adorable af, but it kind of looses it’s bubble-tea cup shape because the bottle is weirdly long shaped… would have been nicer if it was a bit wider than long… but hey, I’m not a designer here. Otherwise it’s cute as hell and it looks nice sitting wherever you store it. You’ll feel good using it because the color of the product is pretty as well. It has a better than average smell but it’s very very faint/non-existent unless you put your nose to it.

It’s also important to note that it is a screw on/off lid and does come with a white plastic… thing… with a tab in between the product and the big lid.

Overall thoughts:  This pack ISN’T STICKY, ISN’T GREASY, AND ACTUALLY DRY making it a breeze to sleep with them on unlike others. Just be careful not to rub the product into your eyes because I did my mistake (it dried on my face, forgot I had it on, touched my face and then rubbed my eye) and my eye itched for the next 30 minutes.

I’m going to officially say this product has no smell, but if you stick your nose to it it has that that smell of a high quality cream? It’s hard to explain and while 13 USD might be pricey for me for a thing Etude House is definitely a Korean DRUG STORE Brand so that’s nice?

It doesn’t REALLY do as it claims (sebum control, pore cleansing, etc) but instead it does pretty much EVERYTHING a little bit better than average? So in other words, it says it’s a sebum controlling/pore bettering sleeping pack. Is it an AMAZING sebum control pack? No! But does it control my sebum good enough for a 13 USD product, while BRIGHTENING my face, while PLUMPING my face, while giving my face a super GLOW after I wash it off, while minimizing discoloration/dark spots/blackheads? YES. And you can SEE results from all 5-6 things I listed that it does do AT THE SAME TIME. And honestly I love it so much more than if it left my face dry and sebum-controlled while looking blotchy as hell and I’m telling you, you do/would as well (:p!!) 

tldr: it’s a sleeping pack that claims that it’s a sebum control/pore fixing type but in reality does that + brightens, + plumps, +adds glow, +minimizes dark spots/black heads/etc

Con: unlike the strawberry type, NO BURNING, ITCHING, OR IRRITATION FROM THIS TYPE!! :))))!!

Overall rating: 10/10

Would buy again: I Yes, but it’s so dang expensive!! I’m also not sure how long it keeps and I do like to try out new things so maybe? It’s not a staple in my collection of beauty products but it sure as hell WORKS (also I’m a cheap b!tch so).

Review: Cosrx - Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask

Packaging: This product comes in a rather small plastic tub (50g) accompanied by an inner seal and a twist-off black cap.

Price: I got this for sale on Jolse for about $14 USD. This has lasted me well over six months because such a little amount can go a long way (however, full disclosure: I did not use this every day -- more on this in a moment).

Consistency: If I had been reviewing this on the first day that I tried it, I may have given it a 5/5 rating simply because it feels so nice on my skin. The consistency is what some may refer to as “chewy” or jello-like because it has sort of bounce to it. When applying it to the skin, it spreads easily like a watery serum. Once it is all rubbed in, it feels lightly moisturizing and minimally tacky to the touch. This product does not feel rich at all, so oily skin types would likely be the best candidates for it.

Scent: No scent! Great for sensitive skin types and those who dislike fragrances in their cosmetics.

Ingredients: A CosDNA analysis revealed that there were a couple of things that could either be irritating or acne-causing, such as butylene glycol (solvent + moisturizer), dimethicone (emollient), carbomer (viscosity control), and beeswax (viscosity control + emollient + emulsifier). Personally, I experienced no irritation or acne from this product but I can imagine the beeswax possibly being an issue for others.

What I found interesting about this product is that it actually contained no real honey at all -- what a misleading name! It does, however, have bee by-products such as propolis (85%) and, of course, the beeswax. Topical usage of propolis has been gaining more attention in the beauty world due to its propensity to help heal wounds and fight off infections. It is a mixture of bee saliva and beeswax gathered from budding flowers, sap, and so forth. Bees use this mixture on their beehives to keep intruders out but also to “sterilize” themselves as they move in and out of the hive. One study in 2003 found that:

Topical propolis is a well-tolerated therapy for wound healing and [...]  it may enhance wound closure.

Another study in 2013:

Due to its antimicrobial, antiviral, and antioxidant properties, it is widely used in human and veterinary medicine, pharmacology, and cosmetics.

In the same study, the researchers investigate all of these claims and find that they are true, albeit not being some kind of “miracle” ingredient as I am sure many might hope for. 

Beeswax is a substance made out of honey and pollen which makes up the “combs” of the beehive. I only found one study from 2003 that found beeswax to be beneficial to those with skin issues such as dermatitis and psoriasis vulgaris when applied topically, but their sample size was considerably small, making it hard to really back up these claims. More studies are definitely needed (considering how often beeswax makes its way into our cosmetics). So this is probably where Cosrx decided they would name their product a “honey” one, but in my opinion, this is not honey in and of itself, and they would have been better off calling this product a “propolis” one -- especially since that is the main ingredient, making up 85% of the formulation.

After months of usage, I can honestly say this did little to nothing for my acne or any flaking I experienced at the time. In fact, as an “overnight mask,” intended to be the last step of your skincare routine to seal everything in, it did not perform at all to my expectations. It did not appear to seal very much moisture in, and in the end, I found out I was better off using this product on its own as a light moisturizer at night. If I used it during the day, it made my face appear shiny and my makeup felt like it would just slide off. 

Overall Review: I bought this product due to the hype surrounding it and the brand, but truly, I was disappointed. I felt that the name was misleading and it did not work well as an overnight mask. It definitely made no difference in how quickly my acne healed, either. In fact, it really felt like it simply did nothing at all; nothing good nor bad came of this product. But still, just because it did not work out well for me, there must be a good reason as to why so many others are in love with it. It is fragrant-free, has a simple ingredient list, and a little goes a long way. But perhaps I was disappointed because I realized there were better overnight masks out there that also provided me with more benefits. At any rate, I do not foresee myself buying this particular product again, though I do still love Cosrx and intend to try out more of their products. 2/5.

This pack contains 100 ml (3.38 oz) and has a nonsticky, jelly-like texture and the tub contains a small spatula.

Once some product has been removed from the tub, the product forms back together and leaves no trace that any was taken out.

There’s no real notable scent and the feel of it on the skin is cooling and refreshing. It takes a very small amount to cover the face and can be used as a regular wash off pack, sleeping pack or moisturizer. My skin feels very fresh and hydrated after use.

Recommended use is to apply a cherry size amount of the cream with the spatula onto the skin, to use as a sleeping pack, warm the product in your hands and massage into skin for one minute and let it dry down and sleep with it on. To use a mask, apply the cream and massage into skin for 2 minutes and then rinse off. To use as a moisturizer, apply as usual and massage and pat product into the skin. After using, as a moisturizer, this product really keeps the skin hydrated and locks in the moisture. It leaves a fresh sensation and is sticky at first but dries down to leave a dewy finish.

What I like: the jelly texture of the mask/moisturizer is very cool and the packaging is very cute with the piggy on it. The product is multi-use and not too expensive. It's neat how it reforms back together after you remove some of the product from the container. The scent of the pack is not strong or anything, it's kind of pleasant. The ingredients are great and the product absorbs quickly into the skin and evens out my skin tone and leaves skin looking dewy. What I don't like: nothing really, it's a great multi-use product.

This was a fun, quick and easy PM regimen, which sometimes, is exactly what you need in life.

I really like The Body Shop’s seaweed skincare line—it does a good job of purifying my pores and calming down spots without overdrying me, which is basically the gold standard for acne-prone combination skin. I wanted to do a somewhat sea-themed regimen, so I followed the cleanser and toner with the SkinFood Jellyfish Marine Hydrogel Mask, which was super moisturizing and soothing—I left it on for nearly an hour and it was still soaking in when I finally pulled it off and patted in the rest.

I wrapped up with a nice dollop of the Mario Badescu Ceramide Eye Gel, which always feels so nice on tired eyes, and sealed it all up with the J.One Black Jelly Pack, which I’ve been meaning to try to get into my regular nighttime regimen, but I’m still figuring out how best to layer it. It definitely goes best with other gel-based products, but I’m wondering if I could layer a cream on top of it as things get cooler and drier? To be continued...

Good lord it seems like it's been *actually forever* since I did a nighttime facial with a sheet mask, and truth be told, I'd kind of forgotten how much I enjoy the process and the ritual of it all before tucking in for the night. I haven't had the time or the energy to do a big mega-routine lately, but this quick, sugar-based routine was just what I needed to refresh and reset. I started out with The Skinfood's Black Sugar oil cleanser and foaming scrub face wash—usually I would throw the wash-off scrub mask in there too, but I didn't want to slough off too many layers all at once despite how grimy and clogged I felt after so long without a good nighttime exfoliation. So to up the cell turnover, I used Mizon's AHA & BHA toner, which I'm always a little afraid to use during the day so I save it for before bedtime just in case. I'm always pleasantly surprised at how little it burns and how well it preps for additional steps. Next came this Holika Holika Strawberry sheet mask. It was super saturated with lots of essence, but I got next to no strawberry scent out of it and the nose and mouth holes were comically large, leaving whole sections of my face uncovered. Still, it absorbed nicely and was the perfect complement to my beloved Botanic Farm Fermented Soybean Pudding Sleeping Pack. I slapped on a hearty dollop and woke up the next morning to a slightly brighter-looking and definitely more refreshed and rejuvenated mug. I've got to get my nighttime skincare routine back in the zone—it's been too long, y'all!
