Tomorrow you’ll find your throat full of wasps on waking—oh, yes, you will swallow my name

Kazran update 19 months
Kaz has been sleeping through the night for nearly 3 months now in his own bed and going down for both naps and bed time by himself, we just lay him in bed, kiss him night and leave the room! it is freakin magical after our horrendous journey with a nurse all night reflux baby. We have done a lot of careful work transitioning him first to his own bed for part of the night, attending him at every wakeup but giving less and less (going from cuddling him back to sleep to just laying a hand on him to coming in and giving him a kiss then leaving again), setting out a routine of dinner, bath, story, bed and making sure bed and sleep is a positive thing and not a battle. I'm proud of all of us especially Kazran. That being said... it's probably due to him weaning which makes me a bit sad; I wanted to go till the WHO's recommended age of 2, but I guess he doesn't like the change in my milk from pregnancy and is getting enough from his regular diet so he decided to wean himself even from the bedtime feed soon after I started to not-offer not-refuse during the day.
Monday 28th April .....
Monday 28th April …..
Was the first night that Scarlet slept straight through from bedtime until I woke her up at 7:45am. My first full night of sleep since sometime in October.
Probably just a little tease to remind me what I’m missing….

"Sleeping Through"
Break through
Remember back when the mancub was 11 months old and I was all like, 'Oh, he never wakes up at night'. Man, those were good times. Then he learned how to roll over and sit up in his cot, and suddnely we frequently had to go in at 11pm, or 4am to lie him back down, because he was all confused and half asleep but why I am I sitting up Mama? Well that hasn't happened for a good few nights, and last night I realised why. I went in at 10pm to check on him and kiss him good night as always, and as I kissed his cheek he sleepily pushed himself up onto all fours. I kind of panicked and stepped out of his sight and commando crawled out of the door. Classy. I waited a minute and he was quiet, so I poked my head around the door. There he was sitting bleary eyed at the foot of his cot. I ducked back out of the room and shut the door. What would happen? He stayed quiet and I gave it another 10 minutes before popping back in, by which time he was flat out asleep on his tummy. Result! This means he has now worked out how to lie back down and get himself back to sleep, which hopefully spells the end of those trips to his room in the small hours. And I now I know his secret of how he turns 180 degrees in his cot without getting stuck.
