Of Hyper Robots and Screaming Bees
For once, it's an actually sunny day at Edinburgh University, which EOS appreciates immensely. It means she can wait outside on the bench, watching the students bustling by around her. Certainly she draws a few glances, as any child sitting unattended with a very full backpack and tote bag by her feet would, but most are too busy with classes to do more than glance.
EOS has been looking forward to this trip for days now, ever since her friend Beatrix had offered to let her stay overnight while John was teaching. Even though she was a little reluctant to leave her programmer behind (you can never be too careful after all), EOS was also very excited about the prospect of a slumber party. She'd only read about these events, or seen them on (admittedly quite dated) children's sitcoms, but it seemed from all sources that no childhood was complete without experiencing one. She'd even packed for the occasion, with a bag full of embroidery thread and nail polish and hair clips. Of course, she'd remembered the essentials as well, like cute pajamas and a change of clothes, a brush for her synthetic hair and the adapter for her charger.
The hardest part is simply waiting to be picked up. With a sigh, she leans back, kicking her heels as she waits for her friend to come.
