Roman and Remy were, perhaps, destined to be doomed lovers. Or maybe that was over-dramatic.

They were high school sweethearts, fully in love and full of adoration for one another, and their relationship was like a roller-coaster. Full of highs and lows, but ever so exciting.

But, like a roller-coaster, eventually it came to a stop.

Some time in university it got rough, Roman stressed and Remy overworked, and both in love but struggling to keep it feeling like it did before.

“We’ve just finished the honeymoon phase, that’s all,” Roman insists one day.

“So this could be the part where things start getting better?” Remy asks hopefully.

“Exactly!”

It doesn’t. They argue and spend less and less time together. The pair become irritable with each other, holding on for no other reason than for the sake of the past.

And then one day Remy comes in and tells Roman he’s breaking up with him.

“F-Fine,” Roman snaps, “I don’t need you anymore anyways.”

“Fine!”

And Remy was out the door again, relationship just scattered broken glass.

Deceit’s... visit across town had been cut short, on the day his roommate officially moved in. He had offered to help, but the headstrong redhead had insisted he would be fine on his own. He got the feeling this would be a pattern, for better or for worse. However, the worst he expected to happen in his absence was a fallen shelf, or a disorganized kitchen.

What he found upon opening the door, however, he found his best friend walking towards him, 5 shades paler than usual and screaming a mixture of guilt and rage. In the next room, he heard a half-muffled sob.

How... Lovely.

"Well, I-"

After finally getting attention, Roman seemed at a loss on how to move forward. It was clear to Remy after just a second of analysis that Roman never really got the attention he needed. And, if last night was any indication, was severely touch starved.

He barely thought about it before he opened his arms.

"Come here, Baby. I'm lonely, let's cuddle."

The speed he rocketed into Remy's lap, combined with his concern of being pushed off, broke his fucking heart.
