Finally catching up with episode 18 of CR. And I don’t like posting, but Christ on a bike y’all were acting like the fight between Thaisha and Occtis was the end of the world. Like Thaisha personally spit on Occtis’s grave and killed his fox…

And it really wasn’t???? Like maybe I have a fucked understanding of conflicts, but like… that was a pretty understandable and comparatively measured disagreement.

Thaisha has every right to be stressed the fuck out and get upset with Occtis. Occtis also has every right to point out that Thaisha is unfairly treating him like an extension of his family. They had a disagreement about it, which got tense and a little mean for very obvious reasons. AND THEN THEY MOVED THE FUCK ON BECAUSE MORE IMPORTANT SHIT IS HAPPENING.

There’s really no coherent point to this post, I just saw ppl talking about the conflict before watching the episode like it was this massive thing. And then I watch the episode and it was just. A natural continuation of the tension that has been brewing this entire arc?????

so i was listening to the Warriors Cypher for the billionth time because of @/all-our-turf ‘s poll and something occurred to me

wtf is going on with Cleon’s verse???

Like everyone else’s tell us something about them (Cochise is versatile, Cowgirl likes to ride, Fox is young and pretty, Ajax is aggressive and a fight, Rembrandt is the artist/tagger, Swan is worried about the meeting)

And then there’s Cleon.

Like the first line is fine, great even

“Suckas kick rocks cuz we’re number one!” < gassing up the team which sets her up as the leader, the use of “suckas” furthers the parallels between her and Cyrus, and Luther has a line later about kicking rocks

But then there’s the next line which

“Cleon, shot the moon, cold cocked the sun!” ????? what does this mean??

Like I know there’s probably some great metatextual shit about this line that I could come up with if i tried (or it’s some reference to the movie or book) but

The cypher is diagenetic. They are saying all of this in canon.

The line that she “shot the moon, cold cocked the sun” is important enough in canon that she includes it in her part of the cypher. So what is it referring to??

Genuinely the only thing I can think of is that this line is something people say about her, or it’s referencing some accomplishment that she has - but i have no idea why/what that would be

I normally don’t like to actually make posts about things, but Warriors has consumed my mind so much that I need to get the thoughts out before I implode

So anyways.

Has is occurred to the rest of y’all yet that there is probably no way the Riffs were only able to capture Cleon without there being some intentionality on her part?

Like the Riffs are compared to the military, there were probably a lot of them at the peace meeting, and Cleon was probably standing pretty close to the rest of the Warriors when shit went south, so why didn’t the Riffs grab any of the others? How did they isolate just Cleon? How could they isolate just her, without some intention on her part?

Do you think she isolated herself on purpose, stepping away from her Warriors so the Riffs could surround her and just her? Do you think that’s why when Luther yelled out his accusation she specifically said that SHE didn’t do it, thus drawing all possible blame to her and away from her crew?

… do you think that when Fox jumped back onto the platform she was thinking about Cleon? do you think at least part of her was trying to follow in her leader’s footsteps ?

I may have an au cooking up in the old brain, and while I have some ideas for their classes I’m blanking a bit on what species/race/lineage (I haven’t gotten the new books so idk which word we use now) they’d play

(Except Cochise. She’d be a changling b/c she’s versatile )
