"Flytraps 2 by Zammy
Back in 2009 I tried to spread the art of this unusual trickstyle known as "Flytraps". If you do not know what a flytrap is, its the combination of two substyles known as "Moebius" and "Slippery Eel". Think of it as if 1a and 5a both had a baby and this is the final outcome. Well, I'm back once again and made a sequal to that very video. Its been near over two years since the first one and I have been meaning to do another one to document the past material that I have done. There is a lot more "No handed traps" in this as well."
some craaazzzzyyy sh*t in this video! respect!
Sea Swimmers shoot - Any body for a swim!!
Shoot 2
 Monday 28th November 2011
Today we went down for our second shoot with the sea-swimmers, when we got there the society were building a raft out of old wooden pallets, cellophane and milk cartons. We conducted interviews with ‘Shaking Stevens’ and ‘Slippery Eel’ the and with ‘Light-House who for the purpose of this film will be named ‘Persidon’. This week we had Catherine on camera and it was felt by the group as an entirety that it was not the best decision made because on reviewing the footage there was not enough constant attention paid to the Sea Swimmers which defeated the object of having a second camera person there. Since week one I have been the sound recordist and I am finding this a challenge being in two places at one time but I think if Catherine is going to want to be on camera then I think it will be a group decision for her to be just on general view shots and any kinds of cutaways we need. This will result in me being able to grab the essential and important audio that is needed instead of constantly thinking also about grabbing sound for Catherine. Today’s shoot ended on a high as we were invited buy Dan aka ‘Persidon’ to join them across the road for cream tea’s this gave Henry as a producer but also the rest of us a chance to have chat with the sea swimmers and wolf down yummy yummy Tea and Scones.
Concern of Narrative in Sea Swimming
Thursday 1st December 2011
I myself like Henry have a real concern that there is no noticeable narrative arch in our film about the sea swimmers, no clear story line and I feel this needs to be addressed as soon as possible, questions of concern I have are – How many interview questions can we have about their motivation, there advice for new people and what got them interested in the sport of sea swimming. How ever I feel that there could be a story in the raft race challenge or the inflatable datable’s event the sea swimmers have on the 11th of December.
          Shoot 3
Sunday 4th December 2011
Today was the day of the ‘Anything Floats’ raft race and competing, making final adjustments and psyching them selves up were our ever faithful, patient as hell sea swimmers. We were one man down today as Catherine did not turn up for the shoot so this made it a lot easier on sound but then it wasn’t as we needed someone to stay with the bags and kit because Henry was going on the water today,  that never came to fruition as the SD card we had rented out and all the ones tried from peoples cameras would refuse to work in the JVC 100’s and we discovered that this was because the one Henry rented from the university was damaged at the back and this discovery came about because the camera was refusing to read the memory card, so Henry and myself whilst Christine was filming out in the rain the ‘Anything That Floats’ competition, took it upon our selves to try and solve the issue till the raft race was over, it turned out to be that it was down to a damaged memory card which had us two cameras down for that shoot Henry said he would have a word with loan shop about this. Interviews as usual and I learning all the time from Christine how to hold the microphone, where to stand, the best way to ask questions, and it’s good but it is constant and its tough because I cant see what she sees and I don’t know if I need to stand where ever I feel is beneficial and have her move around me or stand some where and wait for her to move me. Also we need a clapper board for next week so we can link the sound to mark take a rolling.
Much learnt but always enjoyed….. :)
