I'm really fortunate that I just bruised my left lumber region and didn't hurt my spine. But it's still been an effing painful couple of days. Too many falls so far this year! - - - #dailydrawing #dailypicture #dreardiarydigital #dreardiarydaily #211 #30thJuly2017 #art #writing #digitalart #artistlife #work #a&d #slippingandfalling #backinjury
soo as someone who loves geeking around about history but don't know shit about china... can you tell me some of your most favourite facts about chinese history? or just some things you really love talking about regarding that?
oh for me i mainly know about the Three Kingdoms period of China. it started when i was younger with just really liking the Dynasty Warriors franchise. When I was younger, I loved reading the encyclopedia in those games eventually having the realization that, ‘Wow, these are real people, that really fought, that really lived and died.’
As I got older (and learned how to use the internet), I learned about the real history behind it. I finally read Romance of the Three Kingdoms (a very dramatic retelling of the time period), which took fucking forever (and it’s kind of a difficult read imo). But anyway, that’s sort of how I got into the time period. I love talking and learning about that time period, especially learning about the differences between fiction and reality with it all. I really only know about the fall of the Han Dynasty up until the Rise of the Jin dynasty, but I’d love to learn more about the War of the Eight Princes.
If you’re interested in it, I recommended watching Red Cliff, a very good movie based on one of the most famous and important battles in that time period. Should give you a taste.
