thank you for this post! at first i liked the show because i could see a lot of myself in sheldon, but now it’s just frustrating to watch. very irresponsible of cbs and the people involved with the show.
I agree totally, but then again CBS and Chuck Lorre definitely have a pattern of creating shows with terrible stereotyping. It's so unfair because obviously the autism-spectrum community deserves to be represented on TV but in a much better way.

Honestly this is so on point. This is why I hate this show. Before I knew much about autism, I found it ridiculous that Sheldon was portrayed as a genius yet somehow couldn’t figure out basic social cues. Now that I get it, I hate that they deny it. There are so many things wrong with this show and I hate that they don’t address any of it. They just keep producing the same offensive shit over and over again
There are many many reasons why I hate this show, this is just one of them. It's so irresponsible of them to exploit the identity and then deny it.

This is incredibly well put and really makes you think. BBT is honestly very bad at representing people that are aromantic, geeky/nerdy/etc, disorders, things of the such. It’s a shame.
Thank you so much, it was easy for me to feel passionate about the topic. I also wanted to address their denial of his aromatic characteristics but I had to focus the topic. But yes The Big Bang Theory has a terrible representation problem.
