joining   the   army   had   not   always   been   ravyn's   dream,   though   when   his   father   had   passed   after   he'd   fought   with   him   he'd   made   it   his   only   goal   in   his   life.   working   hard   through   the   ranks   of   the   army   from   the   moment   he   was   old   enough   to   join   them.   even   working   through   the   transition   from   the   former   general   to   the   current.   he'd   been   skeptical   of   ulka   when   she   had   first   been   put   into   her   position.   for   she   was   a   lady   of   the   same   court,   would   she   have   just   ended   up   being   a   spoiled   princess   running   the   same   army   that   he   was   a   soldier   in?   luckily   she   had   proven   herself   fairly   quickly,   and   that   had   driven   the   soldier   to   work   his   way   to   being   closer   with   the   general.   becoming   her   right   hand   had   felt   like   it   was   the   right   thing   for   him.   an   additional   bonus   that   they   both   had   the   same   ideals   about   the   court   that   they   had   found   themselves   in,   readying   the   troops   to   be   prepared   in   the   case   that   they   were   needed.   ready   to   launch   into   a   battle   at   a   moments   notice.   "ulka,   i   grow   worried   of   the   king   with   each   day   that   passes.   has   the   high   lord   said   anything   about   us   readying?"

coming   back   to   the   capital   of   the   dusk   court   had   always   been   about   reconnecting   with   her   friends.   wendi   had   been   aware   that   there   were   a   plethora   of   new   fae   in   their   court,   but   she'd   never   expected   that   she   would   meet   someone   that   had   her   intrigued.   his   flirting   was   something   that   had   remained   in   her   head,   making   her   giddy   for   days   since   she'd   first   run   into   him.   "i   think   i   might   actually   like   a   mainlander."   she   commented   to   her   friend.   "am   i   crazy   for   that?"

"my   sister,   do   you   want   to   do   something   stupid?"   the   second   youngest   dragomir   proposed.   was   it   smart   to   go   about   getting   into   some   sort   of   trouble   in   the   dusk   court?   probably   not,   but   that   had   never   stopped   him   in   the   past.   it   was   the   exact   reason   that   he   had   found   himself   in   a   number   of   different   sticky   situations.   even   including   how   he   had   ended   up   falling   in   love   with   a   gaean   fae.   "we   should   try   to   get   more   knowledge   on   the   dragons,   what   do   you   say?"

fighting   with   his   wife   was   never   something   that   the   general   wanted   to   be   doing.   though   he   wouldn't   necessarily   compare   their   conversations   to   what   could   be   considered   a   true   fight.   however   his   wish   to   open   their   relationship   to   others   was   something   that   the   high   priestess   was   not   as   open   to.   he   could   not   blame   her   for   it,   having   grown   up   close   to   the   older   female's   family   he   knew   first   hand   what   her   father   had   been   like   in   regards   to   his   relationships.   all   he   could   ask   for   lavinia   to   consider   in   his   stance   that   it   was   nothing   like   her   father.   their   relationship,   marriage,   was   not   over   through   this.   he   still   loved   her   so   much   and   if   she   wished   to   not   change   their   relationship   he   would   not   push   it   further.   "i'm   just   asking   you   to   consider   it.   it   won't   change   anything   between   you   and   me.   i   promise."

persephone   had   never   really   been   close   to   her   family,   especially   in   the   times   before   she   had   run   away   from   the   dawn   court.   though   since   her   return   she   had   opened   herself   up   to   them   more.   especially   that   of   her   older   brother   and   iggy.   though   she   still   wouldn't   consider   herself   to   be   close   with   either   of   them   she   enjoyed   the   time   that   they   spent   together   since   she   had   returned   to   dawn   with   ares.   "with   all   of   us   here,   have   you   any   guesses   to   who   fathered   ares?"   persephone   knew   the   other   had   been   curious   of   who   the   young   boy's   father   was.   "i   may   confirm   if   you   are   correct."
