he wanted to give taylan space for a chance of her forgiveness, but he also wanted to hold her until he rekindled that spark inside of her, the one that had made her say yes to his proposal once upon a time. korain truly wanted to believe that the bond between the two was stronger than this, but some time had passed, and he was stuck here, and she was stuck here. he was a ghost of himself, trying to cope with the fact that the only person he needed by his side didn't want to see him. and he had done everything he thought he could do to soften her heart for him. he made sure to fill her whole chamber with flowers, carved out figures from her favourite fairytales and written her numerous letters, asking her to forgive him, but she remained to keep denying to see him. this evening, however, he was going to overstep. korain had bribed a servant to find out about her comings and goings, so he could catch her and tell her how sorry he was.
the library was empty this late and he was glad for it. korain stood by the window, trying looking out through it, but mostly seeing the candle lit reflection of the room. he heard her soft steps matching the beat of his heart far before the door clicked and he had to turn around to see her, closer than he had in months. his throat closed up and his chest tightened of the closeness and the realization that he could not touch her or kiss her. " tay, don't leave, " he spoke before she had the time to realize who had waited for her and decided to act on it. " what do i have to do so that you talk to me ? "
