The Sex Lives of College Girls season 2 recently ended and damn.....what the hell is going on????

Why was Whitney screwing the dickheads from Chemistry class? Why did she and Canaan break up??? What was the point of Jackson? Is Kimberly still in debt? So Tatum is just getting tossed to to side?

There was so much that happened but it also felt like nothing happened which is really disappointing

Also, Kimberly's shenanigans with Canaan are unacceptable to me. Like what the hell bro? How could you do this to your friendm and I like Alicia but I don't see how that's gonna last (also Tatum deserved better)

Weirdly enough, I actually don't have any problems with Bela's actions this season. They made sense to me (even if I didn't support them)

Anyway, the point is......New YouTube video just dropped! Lol we talk about everything we have questions about in season of HBO's hit show!!

Lila really shined this season. I already liked her last season, but I'm happy they decided to give her actress more lines. She's honestly the best.

Sex Lives of College Girls S2 Finale Thoughts

Just watched the finale of Sex Lives of College Girls. I'm glad we're getting a season 3 because the ending???

But I'm glad Bela is recognizing how badly she was acting. I was about to go find Mindy and literally be like "what on earth is happening to Bela's character in the House of Commons (writers room) right now?"

Also sooooo awkward with the drama they set up between Whitney and Kimberly!!!! I better see a talk between Jackson and Kimberly because Jackson imo at most deserves proper clarity.

And Whitney and Andrew should have actually just talked with each other? Like, not once did Whitney ever consider thinking about having a talk to find out why Andrew maybe was acting like that?

To end on a good note, LEIGHTON WAS EVERYTHING. She absolutely carried. Leighton really impressed me and I am so happy with the direction her character went in. The only thing I hope I don't have to see too much of is the discourse about Tatum and Alicia. I will admit it, I was one of the viewers rooting for Alicia and Leighton. I am of the opinion that you should be able to ship who you want, and if you liked Tatum and Leighton, you should be able to enjoy that too.

But please, let's not hate any of the actresses. And us wlws/sapphics have lost so much as it is already. Like I saw someone once say, we can be sad but we don't have to (and actually have the choice not to) project negativity on any particular person.

I really love this show, but it's a shame when things I want to happen/root so badly for never actually get addressed. I'm all for some sprinkles of drama in a show every once in a while, but it does make some things hard. Lol. Just the life of a fandom consumer these days I guess. Hopefully plot/dynamics/arcs can be fleshed out more and we can get longer episodes- or more than 10 eps in one season.

And now we wait for S3 to hopefully give us that.

I liked s2 of sex lives of college girls, but that being said if I was in that writers room every single thing that happened this season would’ve happened differently.

just finished the sex lives of college girls season 2 and i’m really disappointed?? it was a really enjoyable season with really funny moments throughout, but it was so messy and clunky that it’s just so frustrating to look back on. 

anyway spoiler warning for everything below the cut

bela was a great character, but she got sexually assaulted last season, then became really sexual this season, which makes a lot of sense, only to not even mention anything of it at all, and then somehow didn't even address how much of a dick eric was but instead was made to take all of the blame? like yes she did some horrible things too but why did eric become a saint despite his sexist comments and the fact he tried to take over her connection with the comedy guy? bela has so much potential but was written as just this really messy character whose job is to let others look better and to make funny jokes. 

 whitney is another character i love but her storyline was so random? from the misogynoir which was brushed off after one episode to getting with the clearly misogynistic guy who only saw her as worthy of his attention when she proved her intelligence, to then wanting to get back with canaan despite not even having much to go off of... it was just very messy. 

leighton was better written than the other two, but the last two episodes were definitely her downfall. she claimed to be friends with all of the people at the women's centre yet we never saw her with them until we needed to make tatum look out of touch... she did show growth (in relation to her views on politics and the people at the centre) but it doesn't really count if we avoid all of that until the last two episodes. and then to suddenly make tatum into an asshole without even exploring anything else, meanwhile every male counterpart gets to have chance after chance before being kicked off screen (if that). it's just very odd to me idk 

that being said kimberly is probably my favourite of the group. her story was very well written and i really loved her. she's so much fun and her growth was the funnest to watch, and i’m really excited to see what her and canaan do.

overall, with some clunky editing, overuse of ADR, and the inconsistency this season was a lot worse than season one. it was really fun, and the episodes were never really *bad* but it just had so many overall issues that it's hard to rate it all above 3.5. this show could really do with more episodes, because everything was so rushed and some of the endings felt like those netflix mini series that really should be movies and just throw in random plot twists at the end to keep us watching. so much happened yet almost none of it was done well. a very fun but also very disappointing season.
