Two Film Festivals, One Impact
Granted, I was trapped in a theater seat for anywhere from 30 minutes to 120 minutes. I watched a lot of movies and I can not believe I was unable to properly vocalize the impact on me.
Cinequest is a local film festival that started in 1990 where the San Luis Obispo Film Festival started in 1994. Both festivals have had their share of the weathering the economic landscape and shined brightly as the point of culture preservation and humanity.
My previous experiences have been limited either as an assistant or volunteer or limited ticket pass holder. Yet, I can remember films, features, and people whom impacted me beyond the point of consciousness.
This year I was acutely aware to give gratitude to the volunteers. I was keen to remember sponsors and equally appreciative to say Thank You to film makers, writers and actors.
I literally came off the two weeks exhausted as I had no more emotions to shed not a tear, a laugh or a gasp could be uttered in my state of Wow. I was astonished at the amazing work done, the theaters showcasing the works, and of course the audiences joie de vivre.
I want to sit down with a large glass of wine staring out onto the ocean and just talk about the films I saw and see if I can find more to discover. I will try to share more here.
