1. favourite place in your country?

oh, that is so hard. Sometimes it’s just driving on the freeway, watching the grey sky and the rolling hills. Sometimes its the towers and roofs of Copenhagen, sometimes it’s beech forest. But mostly I would say the beach, the wind in my hair and the smell of sea in nose. 

19. do you like your country’s flag and/or emblem? what about the national anthem?

The flag is... ok? It has a cool history - oldest national flag, and was allegedly bestowed upon the Danes at the battle of Lindanaisse in 1219 by God - falling from the sky as sign to spur Danish victory. The latter is a myth, but the former is true, is the oldest continuously used national flag. I’m not religious though, and the flag is a cross-flag. 

The flag is very commonly used though, and source of both national pride and hominess. A lot of people have flagpoles in their yards, and nowhere does people fly the flag like in Denmark, usually ‘just because’? you put up your flag if the weather is nice. You have little flags on the table when it’s your birthday. You put tiny flags on strings like a garland and hang them on you Christmas tree. It’s just.. all over, and it feels cozy. 

The Coat of Arms is 3 lions and 9 hearts and like it because lions and hearts are cool (the national/lesser one, the Royal/greater one is a little busy). 

I do love our anthem, it’s all about how pretty Denmark is, and how ever enduring it is? The melody is a little tame, but at least it’s easy to sing (looking at you, American Anthem, why does it to have that range???)

Bonfire

(Ahhhhhhh hello long time no talk hope you’re doing well darling!)

Bonfire - dream house

Ooooooo...something cozy. As cool as it is to think of a huge mansion, I’m more drawn to something like the house in Knives Out. Give me deep woods and fireplaces, with secret doors that lead to private reading or writing nooks. Places to curl up with a loved one and read together, under a blanket in a window seat that’s perfectly sized for two to cuddle. A lush, green yard perfect for keeping a few chickens for fresh eggs and for a dog or two to run wild and explore.

The one thing I’d be particular about is a bathtub. Big enough to lounge in, with a great view and space for candles around the tub, and for a tray to go across the tub for writing/reading while soaking in a bubble bath. It’s one of my favorite things to do, and of any luxury thing I would want in a house it’s a gigantic tub to stretch out and relax in. If there’s room for two even better, hehe.

For the DnD ask: What's a fun fact about your character?

Ohhh HMM Another interesting fact about Eddie is that he’s a super fast reader! We made him a custom background called “Black-Sheep” to suit his backstory, one part included an ability to fast-read books at double the speed since he read through a lot of books as a child. He also took up the Eldritch Invocation [Eyes of the Rune Keeper] so he can read all written languages. Many sarcastic comments have been tossed around by Cide saying “I didn’t even think you knew how to read??”

For the sleepover asks: what's something you're excited about?

Hmmm... this is a tough one! I’d have to say the Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning release later this month? I was interested in the game when I watched @idrelle-miocovani stream it, but at the time it wasn’t available for the PS4. It’s an open-world RPG like Dragon Age, so that’s exciting, and some of the weapons look really cool (I only hope combat isn’t too tough, my reflexes are pretty poor).

First impression (Sloth-Race): Haha. She's fun. I love her spunk and confidence. Now: Same thing. Also, I should try playing more Mass Effect/Fall Out to see what's it's like, but I have no time.

TMI Tuesday: do you have any personal art goals? Is there a specific style you really love?

Hey @sloth-race! I’m sorry I missed this yesterday. I haven’t been frequenting my art blog very often ;__; I kind of ran out of juice running multiple blogs and just rolled everything over to @galadrieljones. 

Anyway, to your questions. And I’m flattered by your curiosity!! My personal art goals are very loose. I have zero formal training and tend to learn and improve only by DOING and drawing sketches that challenge me to the brink of frustration, but then getting through them, and putting them on the internet for all to see. I’m still teaching myself photoshop and feel like I make a new discovery there with every piece. So my goals are just...draw and get to be able to draw the things I really want to draw. Like being able to do more complex poses off reference, for example, and also getting faster with portraits so that maybe I can be more efficient and do more commissions as well. I just really love being able to draw my favorite characters because, since I’m really mostly a writer, it is just great to be able to put it into art, these little moments and pairings I envision, and to bring a sense of my aesthetic out of words and into pictures.

Styles I like tend to be sketchy and dreamy and a little impressionistic. I love @destinyapostasy‘s clean, dreamy sketch style as well as @lauren-draws-xxx and how her sketches are these sort of impermanent, ethereal waves of shape and feeling that always come together visually in very compelling ways. Living artists outside fandom whose styles I admire and feel very close to are pop surrealists like Mark Ryden and also just straight up symbolists like Andrea Kowch. I think my own personal style is born of these influences and also the way that I write? I like impressionism and symbolism and usually find a way to make my settings and characters feel “real” but like how they might exist in a dream. <3

I can't do this anonymously, but would you eat haggis?

Yes. I’m a huge fan of blood sausage and haggis isn’t that far off. I’ve always wanted to try it, but I’m hesitant to try anything that isn’t authentic.
