I saw your tag about your parents thinking following the law is moral. Feel free to share this fact with them: in India, marital sexual assault is not a crime. Doesn't even get filed as a civil disturbance. By the book, that would be a pretty shit standard for morality.

Like talking about age of consent, they'd agree it's very gross(I'm 95% certain) but at the same time, with conservative people, they group modesty and sexuality into sins in certain categories so that just ends up sexualizing minors in certain ways. (This is my experience with religion and is not a blanket statement on modesty)

Idk ppl just aren't aware of the broad opinions they form with specific statements of that makes sense
