The Royal Knights of Disney Castle (Part 1)
So the Kingdom Hearts fanfic I'm working on is titled Kingdom Hearts Adventures.
The series is gonna focus on the continuing adventures of Sora, Donald, Goofy and their all their friends after the events of Kingdom Hearts III.
It's gonna be episodic comedy adventure series.
And one particular element I'm really excited to showcase is the crossover aspect.
A common complaint towards KH is the wasted potential of the crossover aspect that the series is literally built upon.
This is largely the fault of Disney, due to them being ridiculously over-protective of their characters.
And even in fanfics, I don't see too many that utilize the aspect.
Like having the Disney characters join Sora, Donald and Goofy on their quest.
But in this series, the crossover is gonna be very strong.
From major, to somewhat small.
Though we gotta get this out of the way first.
The World Order. That shit's going straight to The Shadow Realm.
Is just a contrived reason for why the crossover aspect can't be explored all that well.
Plus, the main trio are literally breaking the damn thing all the time!
But when, that element is pretty much gone.
Also, Mickey is not only the ruler of his world, but also the entire universe as well.
He's even part of a council with the rulers of other worlds as well.
Today I wanna talk about one of the ways this will be showcased in the series.
And that's through The Royal Knights of Disney Castle.
It's a little easy to forget that Goofy is canonically the captain of that group.
But we've yet to even see them!
Nor have I seen any fan content exploring what they could possibly look like.
So I figured.....
For this post, I'm gonna share who's gonna be making up The Royal Knights in KHA.
So without further ado, let's get started!
(Also, for the looks of these characters, they're gonna be KH versions of their usual outfits. I'm sure all of you can already imagine what they look like)
Starting this off, we have.....
Oh you know they had to be included!
Max Goof, P.J. and Bobby.
They're about the same as they usually are, though Max here is more openly proud of his father.
I mean, why wouldn't he?
He's a hero!
But anyway, as for how they fight.
Max uses a shield like his father, but a little different.
For starters, his shield is called Powerline Protector, themed and named after you-know-who!
And in contrast to Goofy's shield, it has more of an oval shaped.
As for how Max fights.
In contrast to Goofy, who's more focused on defense, Max is much more offensive-focused.
He always uses his shield like a board, riding into battle on it and utilizes his impressive athleticism and agility to out-maneuver attacks.
And he attacks enemies with punches, kicks and shield bashes.
In spite of his chunky build, P.J. is surprisingly strong and wields a war hammer in battle, so he's pure offense as well.
Bobby wields a magical bottle of Cheddar Whizzy that allows him to create all sorts of constructs out of the substance. So he's more of a defensive and support fighter.
But they're not the only ones from The Goofy Movies....
Yep!
We also got Bradley Uppercrust III, Tank and Slouch (the guy with the fedora).
In this universe, they're much more friendly and earnest when compared to their original depictions.
Though Bradley is still pretty arrogant and has a rivalry with Max.
As for how they fight.
Like Max, Bradley is very athletic and agile.
And he fights with a lance.
Tank is incredibly strong and fights with a mace.
And Slouch fights with a sword.
The next two members are a wacky bobcat and his much more grounded and sensible human partner.
Here we have Bonkers and Miranda Wright!
Same as they usually are.
Though for their origins.
Miranda had been member of The Knights since she was a teenager, being mentored by Lucky Piquel (Bonkers' first partner in the show, who in his universe, is a veteran knight.)
As for Bonkers himself.
Just like in the original show, he was once a big Hollywood star.
But after a major loss of interest in him, his career went down the drain.
One day, while visit Disney Town, he saved Daisy from a Heartless attack.
As a said of gratitude, he was offered a position on The Knights.
And the rest is history.
As for how they fight.
Bonkers wields The Gag Gadget, a Swiss army knife that allows him to perform all sorts of slapstick-based attacks.
Miranda wields The Justice Baton, a baton that can be wielded as a bludgeoning weapon or transformed into a focused energy weapon, being able to shoot powerful beams of energy.
They're also one of the few members who live at the castle.
Now we come to a trio of heroes, who also just so happen to have experience with saving other worlds from the forces of evil.
Here we have Penn Zero, Boone and Sashi.
Same as they were in the series.
As for their origins.
It takes place after the events of the series, with them no longer being part-time heroes.
Sora, Donald and Goofy met them during a mission in their home-world: Middleburg.
Being amazed by their history and experience with traveling through and saving other worlds, Sora suggests that they join The Royal Knights.
And so they did.
As for how they fight.
Penn wields The Chroma Saber, a sword-like weapon that shifts forms and properties based on the mission or world he is in.
Boone wields The Chronomancer Staff, which allows him to manipulate time and space in minor ways, such as creating localized slow-motion zones or brief temporal shields.
And Sashi wields a pair of Spectral Katars, bladed, retractable weapons that can project energy shields and deliver precise, powerful strikes.
Now we come to a familiar teenage witch.
Sabrina Spellman!
Specifically the version from Sabrina: The Animated Series.
Sabrina is about the same as she was in that series.
As for her origins.
She and Donald actually knew each other for quite a while, largely thanks to him being a good friend of her aunts Hilda and Zelda.
And one day, he offered to help Sabrina hone her magical abilities.
And thus, she became one of his apprentices.
Yes, Donald has a few apprentices in this series.
As for how she fights, he wields a Mage's Staff like Donald, which she used to cast magic with.
And if you're wondering, yes, Salem will still be accompanying her.
Now we come to the next two members: a strong but cowardly teenage barbarian and his talking magical sword.
Here we Dave Barbarian and Lula.
Same as they usually are.
As for how they joined the group.
Goofy met him during a mission in his home-world: Udrogoth.
Goofy saw the in spite of his cowardice, Dave had the makings of a real hero.
So he decided to take him under his wings.
As for how they fight.
In addition to his superhuman strength, Dave wields Lula, who can also shoot powerful bolts of lightning.
Now we come to a duo who you'll all definitely know: a pair of mystery solving twins.
Here we have Dipper and Mabel Pines!
Same as they usually are.
As for their origins.
It takes place after the events of the series.
Ever since coming back home, Dipper and Mabel discovered portals.
Yeah in the KH world, there are are portals scattered through the various worlds, serving as another method of travel between worlds.
And so, they started exploring the cart universe beyond their worlds.
During this time, Dipper would start making his own Journal.
And during one of their travels, they encounter Sora, Donald and Goofy.
And the rest is history, with Dipper also becoming one of Donald's apprentices.
As for how they fight.
In his Journal, Dipper has written down spells that allow him to perform magical attacks.
As for Mabel, she wields The Grappling Hook Sword, a blade that functions as a grappling hook. The main weapon would be a solid, star-shaped blade connected to a retractable, glowing, pink rope. The weapon would be wielded like a flail, with the blade extending out on the line for mid-range attacks. It also has other functions like causing an explosion of glitter, projecting a sweater-themed force-field, and leaving a rainbow arc with each swing.
And lastly for this post, we've come to an anxious and impulsive teenager with braces and her three far more well-adjusted friends.
We've got Sharon Spitz, Maria Wong, Connor Mackenzie and Alyson Malitski.
They're the same as they usually are, though Sharon isn't nearly as shitty as she can be in that show.
As for their origins.
Well.....
You know how Sharon's braces are electrically charged at all times given her all sorts of strange abilities?
Well in this universe, it was taken far and she gained electromagnetic powers.
So she's basically now Static.
Only problem is.....she doesn't know how to use her powers.
And this has led her to cause tons of unintentional chaos and destruction around Elkford, earning her the scorn of nearly everyone in town
One particular incident caught the attention of Sora, Donald and Goofy, and they decided to take Sharon under their wing in order to help her hone her powers.
And Maria, Connor and Alyson decided to join in order to keep an eye on her.
As for what they can do.
Like I said before, Sharon possess electromagnetic manipulation.
She can disrupt electronic devices, generate electrical blasts, and even channel electricity throughout her body to enhance her physical prowess.
Maria wields Sports Star, a sports-themed shield. She uses it for pure offense and often throws it like a frisbee.
Connor and Alyson often fight together, wielding rapiers in battle and utilizing both their impressive agility, reflexes and synergy.
Well that's all for now!
Let me know what you think about my choices for The Royal Knights so far.
I wanted to use a mix between well-known characters and not so well-known characters.
Part 2 will be out pretty soon.
I'd also like to hear some predictions on who else is on the team, just to see if anyone ends up being right in the end.
Also, before I go, I wanna leave this fun little poll for you guys!
What should Max and Bradley's relationship be like?
Remain as rivals
Start off as rivals, but eventually grow into something more 😉
