Ok i m going to be a bit delulu now bcpz i trust u to correct me...but remember how jm said when he wants to make and gift a song if he finds someone he loves and he actually helped write n produce the melody of chingu!! I mean he didnt work on producing his solo... ok i m a delulu aaaahhh!!!
Yes of course I remember! I thought about it too when I heard he made this song, and even more after knowing the lyrics.
After Taehyung not getting the Christmas song I couldn’t help but feel this might have been about Vmin (sometimes it’s difficult to not go delulu, I can’t blame you) and it might not be, but “Friends” certainly fits into the puzzle of my other song analysis.
To summarize what we actually got:
Jimin’s first produced song being a Vmin song.Jimin writing very personal lyrics of Vmin’s history and desire to be together foreverVmin singing a song for them and about themVmin calling each other soulmates
We even got their friend and producer Slow Rabbit comment on the song being emotional over Jimin and Taehyung’s bond.
Slow Rabbit also produced Promise and commented on how hard Jimin worked on his song.
I was thinking of including these things in Vmin analysis - “Friends” but ended up not adding it because it was a bit messy and long already and I mostly focused on just the lyrics of the song. But yeah… It seems Vmin has a lot of love and support from their close ones as well.
And I know it feels a bit delulu that Jimin would write this because he and Taehyung love each other based on his comment about a Christmas song, but honestly with everything put together it doesn’t even sound that weird. I myself brought this up in my earlier big Vmin song analysis, so I can’t say it’s weird to think it might be connected. It can still be completely platonic, but this song makes it clear that Vmin loves each other beyond what we can understand and I think that is just beautiful.
