walked in on you in the shower college au JonxAsha. Maybe with Asha being walked in on and not caring at all and Jon being all embarrassed and adorable? :)
If Jon had had his way, he and Robb would have stayed in one of the dining halls or something. It would have been fun--they could have been with Grenn, and Pyp, and the rest, drinking themselves blind before waking up and making their way out to the Blood Bowl.
But Jon said that Theon was having a rough time, and had invited them--well, Robb. Jon was pretty sure that Theon had only invited Robb, and that Robb had assumed that that meant Jon as well--to stay in his apartment, so there he was, waking up at eight in the morning to the sounds of the marching band making their way out to the stadium.
Jon yawned, and rubbed his eyes, and would have gone back to sleep--the game didn't start for another four hours, after all--but his bladder was full from all the beer he'd had the night before, so he figured he'd at least take a piss first.
As it turned out, Theon's bathroom didn't have a lock and Theon's shower didn't have a shower curtain. Theon's shower also had a woman in it, who was lathering shampoo in her hair and humming to herself in a tuneless sort of way--the way Arya did when she didn't think anyone was listening.
"Fuck, sorry," Jon said quickly, blushing furiously as the woman opened her eyes. She had Theon's eyes, and he remembered vaguely that--fuck, Theon's sister was staying over this weekend, she'd come in to spend time with him because he was having a hard time at the Dreadfort and fuck--he was staring at Theon's sister's tits and noticing all too clearly the way that the shampoo was falling from her short dark hair and flowing in streams over her breasts.
"Eh, it's fine," she shrugged. She didn't even bother trying to cover up.
"I'll--" he backed up slightly.
"I'm going to be in here a while. I won't look if you need to piss," she shrugged. She turned around and fuck--that was her ass. It was a very nice ass, muscular and rounded. He was staring at it and--too late--he realized that if he backed out of the room now, it would be very obvious that he had spent several seconds staring at Theon's sister's ass.
So he crossed the bathroom, closing the door behind him and pulled his cock out of his boxers and willed himself to piss as quickly as possible.
When he was finished, he tucked himself away and flushed the toilet and she shrieked "Fuck, that's hot!"
"What the--" he yelped, whirling around, because he should have thought not to flush--of course it would make the water in the shower change temperature. She grinned at him.
"Just messing with you," she said, winking.
Jon exhaled in relief--short-lived relief because a moment later he was noticing her breasts again and how she was now soaping up the dark curls between her legs and--
"Sorry--I'll leave you to it, then," he muttered.
"I lied," she said. "I looked." She dropped her gaze pointedly to his crotch. "Want to join?"
His eyes bugged out of his head and he felt his jaw dropping despite his best efforts to remain calm.
"What?"
She laughed and reached a dripping arm out of the shower and grabbed the front of his t-shirt. She pulled him towards her and kissed him, hard, and a moment later, he was standing in the shower in his boxers and his t-shirt, with Theon's naked sister pressing him against the tiling, her tongue in his mouth.
For all we know, the Skagosi might be vegetarian. But savage MiniHannibal!Rickon is my guilty pleasure, along with Taylor Swift.
The thing is, to my mind, Rickon-as-a-savage is not something that makes any sense to me as far as fanon goes. First of all—the concept of “savagery” is one that sets my little history-major-self on edge because it’s such a loaded concept, and one that is deeply rooted in institutionalized hatred.
Like, I get that he’s more wild than Bran, and that he’s not really parented as a toddler, but to me that doesn’t really lead to him becoming an out of control savage at all—especially not when he starts having Osha’s undivided attention. Additionally, to my mind, automatically saying that “Rickon is angry” (which I think is true) doesn’t always look to the why he’s angry. He’s a child (like…3-5 years old). I am in my twenties and wouldn’t be able to emotionally process his situation, I can’t fathom that he’s able to. There’s so much pain and abandonment in his life, of course some of that will manifest in anger. But is that the only thing he is? Is he only subject to those emotions, and none of the influence of spending time with Osha and Bran and the Reeds? Like, he’s no less composed than the Walders, and they’re older than him and Bran. Why would he lose that when he leaves Winterfell?
So yeah, maybe he’ll be raised in the style of a Wildling because he’s in Osha’s care. But like, Jon’s whole experience with the Wildlings goes to show that they aren’t the barbarians that the people in the Seven Kingdoms think that they are. And so the concept that Rickon’s gonna be all savage is just playing into the concepts that GRRM subverts by having characters like Mance Rayder (who chooses the Wildlings), and Ygritte, and Val, and Tormund, and even the Magnar of Thenn and the Lord of Bones aren’t “savages”—they live a lifestyle that’s different from the Seven Kingdoms. They are a different culture. (Indeed, Jon recognizing this and then going and trying to make everyone else operate using that same mentality is a part of what gets him shanked. It’s why his shanking seems so brutal. Because Jon’s doing the right thing.)
And the thing is with Skagos is it is part of the Seven Kingdoms. It has rebelled against the dominion of Winterfell—perhaps multiple times, it’s unclear—but their culture is probably something that’s really interestingly different from the North and from the Wildlings. Does that automatically make them everything people say they are? Realistically speaking…no. Reputations can come out of long histories, and the stories of Skane are old old old. Do they still eat the flesh of men? Who even knows. Davos’ll find out. But the automatic assumption that they do just because the Seven Kingdoms takes it for granted that they do is super shady to me on so many levels.
Also— slowlygrowingstronger just added this to say which I think is relevant/interesting, and had not heard before:
I mean that’s how it happened in real life. Most cannibal rumours were made up by Europeans so as to dehumanise the local populations. First mention of word cannibal, if I’m remembering my class last year is … Columbus. So its totally legit that GRRM would use it like that!
slowlygrowingstronger replied to your post “Happy New Haircut!(In Bulgaria we say this when we see someone has a new haircut) I hope you don't get bored of it anytime soon and may it make you very happy. Hair is pretty important(at least to me). Also how short is your hair now? Ear-length? Shorter?”
Happy New Haircut is the best congratulations! I would love if that was a thing in English
I may or may not often say it and wish that it were a standard thing.
Hey I know you're away, but I'm excited so you're getting this now to read later. There is a Elia/Lyanna fic up on ao3 and apparently it's 19 chapters long. I'm so excited, I blame you for all your crackships making me love them. So as i type I haven't even read it yet, so yes I realise it's sad I'm this excited. But this ship never gets long or many stories. It's called "There Will Come A Time". . . Excited rant over.
Oh my. I will have to look at it tomorrow when I have a brain in my head and a vacation day!
Oops! Just realised I forgot the au setting for the ask I just submitted. So AU where Lyanna dies, but Rhaegar winsand takes Cersei as second wife.
Their mothers had been friends—the best of friends, her father had once told her, or maybe it had been Uncle Kevan who had told her that. She couldn’t remember now. Regardless, there was no love, no friendliness when Elia looked at her, rage and shame tucked away from her face into eyes that looked as though they would have burned Cersei clean off this earth if they could have.
She didn’t watch Charlie die. Well, she did. She saw him press his palm against the window with the words Not Penny’s Boat scrawled on it in sharpie, but she didn’t really see it. She couldn’t really see it—she couldn’t really see anything.
She was running over Asha’s story in her head. They had him in a basement for over a year, slowly carving off pieces of him, raping him, torturing him. He’s gone through intensive therapy, and they’ve broken the agreement and are getting in touch with him again. There’s also a girl—named—I don’t do names—fine ok, well, they had her too. Beaten and raped and the whole nine yards. They are bad people and they’re after them again and I need help, I can’t just—I can’t just go and—you know?
Arya did know. Arya knew all to well. No, you can’t just—and then expect life to be normal, and go on the way that it was before. You can’t just—and expect to get away with it. That’s what you called her for, because she got away with it—she always did, because nobody ever thought it was her. That was why she was so good at it, why she was so—
But she was done with that now—done with it. She’d hug up her pistols and gone home and pretended that she was normal Arya and that she didn’t know what sound someone’s skull made when you beat it in with the butt of a rifle. She was normal Arya, who wanted to play volleyball again and made fun of Rickon’s hair, and folded laundry with Sansa, and watched Lost with Gendry, who laughed at all the plotholes the writers were making for themselves. She was Arya. She wasn’t No One anymore—she didn’t do things like that, couldn’t do things like that, couldn’t just—
But then again, she couldn’t leave them like that. She couldn’t. Especially now that they’d gotten in touch with her. What would she do if something happened to them, and she hadn’t helped them? Would it be her fault for not?
"Everything ok?" Gendry asked.
Arya looked over at him blankly, and forced a smile.
"You sure?"
She wanted to cry—she knew he could tell, but she couldn’t ever say anything about it—especially not to him. She nodded jerkily and pulled her phone over to her, texting the number that Asha called her on.
It’s not a no. If you’re smart, you’ll find someone else. I’m still considering. But it’s not a no.
slowlygrowingstronger replied to your post:for the longest time i was more or less...
Me too only it was really sudden and I don’t know why/how
Yeah, same, it seems to have happened overnight. I have a lot of problems with how the show presented the Martells, but the upside of it is that it did get me thinking about them more than I ever really had before, and rereading some of their chapters, and oh hey what do you know, turns out I l kind of love them, who knew?
slowlygrowingstronger replied to your post “Jaime and Sansa. Ancient Greek composition (ie English to Greek translation aka hell).”
Wow! If only my real exam was more like that! The actual translation I had to do was about a prostitute who had married an Athenian citizen = scandal. So thank you so much!
Glad you enjoyed! (Next time as protest translate this drabble into ancient greek tho! that would be hilarious.)
