Hello and welcome! My name is Veed (they/it/he please). I am an artist + volunteer naturalist.

This is a place for my art and creatures. I post a lot of pet bugs and Pacific Northwest nearshore wildlife, so be careful if you don't like creepy crawlies! I also occasionally post artistic nudity.

I'm currently mostly working on art for Sea of Spires, a sci-fantasy setting with speculative biology elements.

I also have the planet Attis, an older hard scifi leaning project that I'm in the process of dusting off.

ROBOT MASTER DESIGN CONTEST.

it's still so absurd to me that out of all the mega man classic rms, they decided to give NAPALM MAN of all characters the friendliest circle shape language. Just look at him. No points. No edges. All round. He looks like a squished grape or perhaps a basket of easter eggs.

my shadow man is quite headcanon heavy. I like his whole deal in archie where he's part of an alien clone army thing but i found it kinda weird he was built with a personality at all tbh. Or the ability to choose a new master (even though he probably knew the stardroids were still alive?) Just seems like impractical design for your giant replaceable alien foot soldier army. idk maybe they would've addressed it somehow if the comic didnt get canceled 😞

Either way. in my head, the kuiper units' capacity for learning is literally only there for the purpose of improving/innovating combat capabilities. none of them are supposed to have conscious personhood or ever be in a situation where they are treated like individuals. wily castle, though still militaristic in its own right, is nowhere near stardroid level of "let's spend every waking moment of our existence waging war against all that dares to breathe in the universe." (and my version of Wily is inspired by Ariga and rockman san wily, so wily castle isn't actually like. the worst place to be as a robot master.) with the help of extremely specific circumstances and some programming loopholes, I find it interesting to explore how a robot like shadow man could evolve a sense of "personhood" despite everything.

my friend mahmoud's (@/ma7moudgaza2) campaign. he's vetted by el-shab-hussein and nabulsi, the people behind gazavetters. we've been chatting for 2 years now and have video called. he's real. not that anyone in gaza needs to "prove" themself to be worthy of basic human rights, but even while dealing with his own suffering, mahmoud is putting his community first through his grassroots organization Isnad, which provides students spaces for education during this genocide. he can't provide this without support though, and he himself hasn't gotten donations in more than 10 days now. donations are protected for a year also, so you can refund within that period if you want to for whatever reason.)

every day i am in awe that out of all the mmc characters, they chose gravity man specifically to get dialogue in smash bros. this is the opposite of a complaint btw i feel like the luckiest person alive
