Yes, but this is the fandom where there was an arms race between the people who figured out how to not only achieve godhood but escape the boundaries of the fourth wall in a time measured in combat rounds from character gen, and the people using dirty tricks to get just a bit more narrowly-focused power just a bit faster to prevent that from happening.

i dont even want my coworkers, with whom i semi regularly go drinking and whom i tell most of my life problems, to ask what im reading when im on break

i don’t want to say it’s rude exactly but it does feel very purposefully oblivious to what i feel is an obvious social signal that i need people to not attempt to socially engage me for a bit
