Requests are closed, I'm sorry! I feel slightly bad for constantly declining requests, so I'm gonna give ya'll a sneak peek of a Nightmare Sans x Reader fic I'm working on.

For context: Nightmare is in the version of a human and this is a soulmate AU.

Every single day on your birthday, when it was midnight, you’d hear a knock at the door. Without fail, you’d open your door to see if anyone was there. And every time, you met no one on the other side of the doorway.

Until tonight.

There was a tall and dark-skinned man in front of you, likely 5’9. He had long, curly, and jet-black hair, pulled back in a low ponytail, reaching just below his waist. He had a piercing icy blue eye, his other eye covered by his side bang.

He sized you up, a smirk falling on his lips.

“Care to invite me in?” he purred.

It tempted you to close the door on him, but you stopped yourself. There was something about him… that seemed familiar. Suddenly, you realized you’d seen him before in a dream you had a few hours ago.

He acknowledged your reaction, humming in thought.

Out of nowhere, the soulmate ring on your fourth finger shined a bright cyan, almost blinding your eyes.

Ah, right, your soulmate. Everyone had one, and that included you. However, you haven’t found yours yet. Until now, that is.

The shine indicated you had finally found your soulmate.

You stared wildly in shock at him, glancing back at your ring, then his face. He held in a chuckle as you took a few steps back and let him inside. He shut the door behind him with a soft thud.

He gazed fondly at you.

“Who… Who are you?!” you spluttered.

He rested his hand on his chest. You noticed he had the same ring on his finger, which shined your favorite color.

“My name is Nightmare. I’ve come a long way to find you, my moonshine,” he uttered before he strolled towards you, cupping the side of your jaw.

I’m always here if you want to talk, or if you want to ask for clarification or if you want to know something that you may not be able to figure out on your own or know where to start? I know it took a while to figure things out on my own when I was younger, so honestly, do make use of the resources that you have in your hands and try and see what you can find, and never hesitate to ask for help if you are not sure, or if you’re scared. 

Like I said, there’s no right or wrong way, and you should see what to feel when you’ve looked into it. There are a lot of experiences that you’ll be able to read about online about people who have dealt with this as well, and learning from others that know where you’re coming from can really help. Even if it sounds kind of silly, try new things and see what works. 

You’ll never know unless you try. That’s the key thing. You should focus on the details and trying to see how you can start the process of unlearning what has been taught to you, not easy, I know. But, we all start one day at a time and we get where we need to be! It’s important to focus on that. It doesn’t get always get easier, but it’s important that we focus on being kind to each other. 

Being open and sincere to others is a rare thing, but it shouldn't be. Life isn’t always kind nor has it been kind to me, but if I can do anything, I think that I want to be someone that can help people that are in need of hearing comfort and validating to their fears, because I didn’t have that, and I would never wish that on anyone.
