my qpp just made me a very excellent cup of tea made from a very excellent blend that another friend put together specifically for me and I am feeling very warm and loved right now, and if you're reading this then I hope that today brings you small comforts that make you feel loved too💙

scattered photos on the coffee table, the TV a low background hum and even though i don’t need to, i memorize the cadence of your laugh, wrap my arms around you just because i can. i admire the pictures, framed and unframed, how you can see the way we are drawn toward each other like opposite magnetic poles, like the whole world tried to keep us apart and still we ended up here. our red string of fate flickers gold in the fading sunlight and i can see how our future awaits: me, curled up in your too-large sweater on the couch beside you for the rest of our days.

Small happy things

Sliding on hard floors in socks

Holding a hot drink on a cold day

On a hot day, filling a cup with ice and breathing into it - you can smell the cold

Lighting a candle and watching it burn

Standing at the edge of shelter and watching rain fall right in front of you

Finding an old book, opening to a random page and smelling it

Warm milk late at night

Glow in the dark stars on a ceiling at night

Fairy lights at night

Ukulele playing with stormy sounds in the background

Listening to storms

Making a microwave mug cake and eating it, knowing that you are capable of creating something with your own hands that is good and has a purpose

Finding out last minute that its a long weekend and you have a whole extra day free of school/work to do anything

The complete peace and silence of being underwater

Wearing comfy hoodies/ jumpers that are several sizes too big

The smell of baking cookies

Running in the rain and staying at the perfect temperature because as you heat up, the rain cools you down

Standing on a high place in the wind and feeling like you could fly

The local sushi shop is back open (yayy!) and also they’ve started stocking the cutest gluten-free macaroons?

I am grateful for my dad, who is always there for me when I need him

I am grateful for the cool weather, meaning I can sleep better

I am grateful for hot baths, which help un-fuck my back

I am grateful for my ukulele, which helps me de-stress at times

I am grateful for my knitting, because oh gods I missed doing it so much, it’s so good to be able to knit again and see that I haven’t lost any skills in the past few months

I am grateful for the pen-smoothing add-on I have for photoshop, because holy hells is it so damn helpful and has so many useful functions

I am grateful that my hands seem to be improving. They still ache, but I can use them regularly again, I can knit, I can draw, and I’m not in constant hell pain for the first time in months

I am grateful for my hand braces, use of which lead to the hand improvement mentioned above

I am grateful for my partner, who bakes me aussie foods I haven’t gotten to eat in years <3

I am grateful for my voice, because singing is fun

I am grateful for the internet, for providing me with a ridiculous amount of shows to watch when my hands are dead

I am grateful for my job, because I’m working for people I actually enjoy working for

I am grateful for my partner, who does dinner prep when I’m unable to <3
