17:52 - it has been a while since the last update. Both species have grown quite a bit from last time, the small leaf fuchsias seem to be slow to grow compared to the other. The toothed fuchsias have been growing nicely since I’ve been consistently pinching off buds to encourage horizontal growth more than vertical growth. There are only 6 plants in the toothed fuchsia pot.
19:21 - Another long awaited fuchsia update! It has been over a month and they have gotten so big!! Trimming the top buds when they’re getting taller has been beneficial for their form and I look forward to making them bushier with time. The small-leaf fuchsias seem to be still going quite strong and I’m thankful for that.
In the near future I expect to repot them. Maybe when I’m a few weeks into summer I’ll do that. I’ll be moving dorms soon and I do not want to stress them out much at once.
00:29 - the seedlings have recovered nicely. I’m quite excited about the growth of the toothed fuchsia! I will likely pinch off the top bud of the tallest toothed seedling soon to promote a bushier growth. There hasn’t been any deaths from their roots being disturbed which speaks to how sturdy they can be
19:31 - Not much to note! I just cannot believe how big the seedlings have gotten!
23:02 - they’ve been getting pretty big now! The leaves also still feel quite tender and a bit waxy. The small leaf fuchsia seedlings are lagging behind still, but nothing too alarming.
Meanwhile, the basil has been really popping off! They grow so fast
19:30 - the fuchsias have continued to steadily grow. The big leaf fuchsias are still more vigorous. The second set of true leaves are already setting in. The small leaf fuchsias are not far behind, just miniature.
18:46 - I have been using a bd spray (horsetail ferment) for the past 2 days and the lil’ ones are doing great! I plan to sprits them with it again in a few days. The silicone and nitrogen has been serving them well!
19:18 - another seedling update! This time featuring the unknown weeds I brought over from Colorado. I’m real excited! Everything is growing real nicely including the small leaf fuchsias. There still appears to be germinating seeds in that pot which is good news! Just means they take longer. The toothed fuchsias are growing real fast with the second sets of leaves popping in now.
