this evening tho my mom offhandedly told me something that shook me… she was like “haha so you know on friday when [my mom’s bestie] was looking at the books on your coffee table and said she and her husband had tried to read one but didn’t get into it? she was totally joking” which means that i monologued to a party about books for a good five minutes because i thought she was being earnest and no one stopped me 🤦🏼 i’m seriously always going to be stuck in the middle between work where i’m a hick who likes spaceships too much and doesn’t even care about the new york review of books + here where i’m a walking curiosity because i pick up more than 5 novels a year. at least i fit in on tumblr tho #internetaddictionforever
