Interesting sight in my pet rats' hideout... This is a solid gold Montreal Olympics pin I found in a thrift store grab bag, and the rats have taken it and put it in their hideout like a decoration. They have clearly learned of intrinsic value and likewise learned to engage in thievery. I fear how powerful they may yet become.

It’s grey outside when there’s a knock on your door. You ignore it because you treat the door like your phone, you don’t answer it.

When it happens again you tiptoe over and squint through the peep hole. Nothing.

You itch your ass and unlatch the locks before cracking open the door. Nothing but must and quiet.

You close the door before your neighbors, that you may or may not have, notice.

You regret opening the door.

If You Can't Beat Her Join Her

After yesterday's post about Houdini not being allowed into the sleeping ball in order to get the food Akira has been storing, things have changed dramatically! Tonight, Houdini has started to add to the food pile that Akira has started and voila! Akira is letting Houdini in. It was as though Akira wasn't allowing Houdini to eat from the storage until she contributed to it!
