not to give tech companies ideas, but I think it would be a really useful feature of smart speakers to hold things in their (LOCAL!) memory to be retrieved later - like I want to be able to say "okay Google, grandma's ring is in my left hand desk drawer" and then later say "okay Google, where is grandma's ring?" and her to respond "in your left hand desk drawer". that sounds like it would be fairly simple to code, no? and extremely helpful for people with ADHD/dementia/memory loss/shit brain disease? can someone tell me if this is a thing I can like get a Google home app for or whatever?

Smart speakers like The Amazon Echo Dot have already found their way into many households. For the convenience of not having to get up to switch on the lights or to reach into the pocket to check the weather on the smartphone, millions of smart devices are constantly listening to their owners, waiting to be activated by hearing their wake word. But do inactive smart speakers really keep our data for themselves? Are they still just patiently waiting for their wake word or are our private conversations too tempting for advertisement and surveillance?
