City Trial and Smash Run can both be highly unpredictable experiences. With stat upgrades and events randomly thrown in among a huge world to explore, every experience will be a little different!

However, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to get better! Some things are essentially always the same! Learning what is consistent can help you get a good idea of where to go and what to do even in circumstances that don’t necessarily start out in your favor! Learn these things, and you’ll consistently win against less experienced players, even among all the chaos!

Catching up on SMASHADAY, where I try and draw 6 Smash characters a day, taking only 10 min per character (not including sketchline cleanup), covering the whole dingdang series. The list of characters is kinda big!

So I was playing Smash Run and this happened

Thoughts on Smash Ultimate?

I hope it’s truly the definitive Smash Bros. game. I was pretty happy with Smash 4, but it has some rough edges still. Smash Run isn’t very good, and Smash Board is hot garbage. Earning trophies hasn’t been fun for a while (though the Smash Box or whatever is a lot more fun than the weirdo pinball table from Brawl).

There’s a part of me that hopes Ultimate’s trend of “EVERYTHING!!!” means we’ll get some kind of Melee-style adventure mode. Just something quick, and easy, and simple to play through as an alternate to Classic Mode. Don’t need no cutscenes or storyline or “it’s just a mediocre Kirby game” pseudo-Metroidvania stuff.

Just something I can boot up, play and finish in fifteen minutes and think “yeah. look at all the cool smash bros. stuff I just saw”
