Smashcon 2015
Smash was amazing. So many things bought. So much effort put into cosplay. I like being surrounded by so many people who share the same interests. I just wore my Hououin Kyouma/Hakase science shirt and having people say “zOMG! That shirt!” was fantastic.
Then there was the Anisong Concert. All the performances were incredible. I couldn’t help but get caught up in the buzz. Staying still was out of the option. All the artists definitely did there best to get everyone fired up. There were so many dedicated fans there and it really showed. It was a blast.
A bunch of my favourite songs were featured such as Yellow by kz and Ambiguous by Garnidelia. There were a few surprises there too. Who would’ve thought that Garnidelia would perform the Evangelion Theme Song? Also, I forgot that Yanaginagi did the ending theme of Black Bullet. I would be absolutely thrilled if they held another concert next year.
Cosplay was a big hit this year again. With such a big area to wander around, you could spend all day walking about and seeing the dedicated effort put into everyone’s outfits.
Tsunemori and Ginoza from Psycho-Pass were around showing off their Dominator gun replicas. Vash from Trigun, with his “red coat and lovely blonde locks”, was unexpected. It’s nice to see that people are still dedicated fans after so many years. On the other side, Shimoneta aired only a few weeks ago and there were at least two cosplayers as Blue Snow. One even had the flag of their organisation, SOX.
Smash keeps on getting better and better every year.
