SMA Task 21 - What Reminds Me of Home
To be honest, St. Mary's is way more welcoming than my own home ever was. The people are nicer and I actually feel like I belong. The only thing here that reminds me of home is my brother, Noah. He still tries to take care of me like he did at home, but I find it really comforting. It's nice to know that everything doesn't have to change.
Journal- Home sick?
Task 21
You know, it's funny. This place doesn't really remind me of home at all. In some ways, that is a good thing. I'm here to be away from my parents, to get used to it and to work on school, but in others, it makes me miss home all the more.
The only thing here that really reminds me of home is my sister, Ashley, obviously. She has been with my since my birth, so how could she not remind me of home.
Dear Journal,
Being only my second day here, I have yet to have time to miss home. Yeah, I miss my parents being around but I kind of like the freedom. If you want me to be honest, I don't think I will miss home too much. Yes, they are my family and I should miss them; but I really don't think I will. They were the ones who held me back, and now that I am here I get to be me. But I did bring a teddy bear that my mom gave me. It reminds me of my mom and dad and just my childhood in general...I may regret bringing it here, but for now I don't mind it. It's a little piece of my childhood in my new home.
