For day 2, the prompt for Smaugust on the list I'm following is Forbidden, so it made me think of Slifer the Sky Dragon. I thought since I'd painted him once before digitally I'd try to do so again. I do have another painting I had in mind for this prompt of my own dragon, but this one ended up wanting to be painted first, so to speak. The other one will likely be shared down the road as well.
I wanted the red for Slifer to really contrast against the background of purplish gray, minus the beam he's shooting in the picture. I tried to leave some of the white on the page for that effect. This time I did add a bit of colored pencils in for touching up a few areas and adding a sense of definition and crispness here and there.
