Summary:

Garrus dies on Earth. Killed by a banshee that was aiming for Shepard. It should have ended there. But instead, he wakes back up on Omega. No wounds, no scars, and very much alive. The reapers haven’t arrived yet, the galaxy isn’t at war and Shepard is still alive. No one seems to remember anything. Except for him. Each time he dies, he resets to the same point, with nothing but his memories and a splitting headache. He tries to figure out how to break the cycle, even escape it entirely. But there is no remorse, only the same outcome every time.

In order to secure the support of the turian Fleet, Shepard's sent to Palaven's moon Menae to find Primarch Fedorian. It's difficult to focus on the mission when the whole world is burning and she has no idea if Garrus is still alive or how she's supposed to do any of this, and it feels like she's right on the edge of falling apart... It all comes together to break her on that battle-scorched moon, when she sees something she had been praying she never would. TL;DR: During Priority: Palaven, Shepard sees an unsettlingly familiar-looking Marauder.

Throughout the years, Garrus has found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, injured for whatever reason. After all, in his line of work, you have to expect the usual minor (or sometimes major) flesh wound. At least he has one constant in Shepard, always there to tell him to patch it up. —or, four times Garrus is injured in front of Shepard, and one time the roles are reversed. A relationship progression shown through injuries.
