VW Smile Drive

Volkswagen SmileDrive powered by Google. The first social app to maximize fun on every drive of your splendid VW vehicle! Whether you're commuting to work or traveling cross country, SmileDrive records your drive, awards you points for unique accomplishments, and lets you share stories after your trip. Like FourSquare for your car.  Some really nice touches in the video, where when you pass another VW car, you get a little fist bump. And also the app gives crazy when you  pass an identical car.

It also allows you to create a travel journal of all the trips you’ve made and tag your passengers.

Bad news is that it was focused on Google+ as a social network (as this was done in conjunction with Google) AND it was only available on android devices.

However in six months since go live, the app has clocked up the following:

8970 app downloads

73 minutes is the average time spent driving with the app

1172 hours spent viewing other’s smile casts
